HP Envy 4500 e-All-In-One Printer

Nice compact design without bits sticking out so suitable where space confined. Easy to install from printer display screen instructions with supplied cd or online. I did both - online for our pc and from disk for laptop. Dialysis screen small but clear typeface easy to read. Allow enough time to customise installation if you do not want to install all the bloat ware, games & for registration which took an age. Printer response time good but scanner noisey/slow in operation but quality good. Quaity of prints good. Have tested all basic functions but not tried printing photo's yet. Easy to access innards and install cartridges from large flip up lid under document bed which is important for those of us who are 50+ with dodgy hands. So far so good and happy with my purchase.

I love this printer, it does everything really well. Very easy to set up, the wireless side was dead easy and my ipad and sony phone could print to it without issue.

Excellent quality print even on basic paper, with an easy setup and easy to operate. Good value, and fairly quiet in operation.

This printer arrived yesterday and did not take too long to set up, it is a brilliant little printer that can be printed from via a mobile phone, tablet etc.,

Wished I bought this earlier my 1st printer was a Kodak and this is far more superior would recommend to others

For a start - the printer is only about 17cm high and not 30 odd as stated in some reviews or descriptions.
Very simple to set up - the wireless 'just worked' and there are some features on it that I didn't know about, for example it looks like you can email direct from the printer without messing about with a PC.
If you want to print post cards (e.g. 6in x 4) you can do this by feeding in the photo card in portrait mode. The printer does the rest and handles the thicker photo card paper no problem.
No problems at all so far - highly recommended for home use !

I bought this printer to supplement an aging HP Photosmart 6180 which could not communicate with a newly purchased iPad Air. Because the old printer, apart from being old, worked fine I had no intention of spending big quids on a second printer.

I came across the Envy 4500 quite late in the studies and bought it based on the Amazon reviews.

It was very easy to set up. I didn't use the installation disks at all, simply connected the power cable, entered my WiFi code and the printer did the rest. Followed the instructions to insert the cartridges and paper and it was ready to go.

I had already downloaded the HP AiO app and when I opened that the printed appeared just like it should. I have only done the printing and scanning so far and these work very well. Probably better than the old printer and a MacBook. The printing is good quality (very good, really) and very quick. The scanning works well too, but isn't so quick.

Niggles? Well, it's a pain having to swop paper to go from A4 to photos. That said, the quality of the photos is poor - really not very good at all, so if you plan to use the Envy 4500 to print a lot of photos, I'd look elsewhere (hence the 4 stars). And that's about it for the niggles. Apart from the printing there are a few things I'd like to see done better in the HP AiO app (don't like the default setting of US letter paper size when scanning, which means you have to change it to A4 every time) and the fact that it doesn't seem possible to scan multiple pages to a single document. But these are niggles aimed at the software rather than the printer.

The printer itself does a pretty good job all round, photos excepted, and if the photos aren't so important to you I'd recommend the printer without hesitation.

Lovely printer does the job takes a couple of seconds to start printing. Looks lovely aswell well worth it would recommend it.

The printer was very easy to set up straight from the box. The blue tooth connection worked fine with my Toshiba laptop. Works fine for everyday low level domestic use.
