Been using Norton for many years, and this is the first time I've had a problem. In fairness, a pretty significant problem.
After attempting to install via the web (recommended), my laptop died. Blue screened, as someone a little more tech savvy than me referred to it. Several attempts later, I managed to restore my laptop.
And tried to install again, this time from the cd. Again, it seemed like everything went well. Until I clicked the Norton icon. Blue screen death and frustration again.
Restored. Rebooted. Checked icon. Icon worked. Clicked to scan.... Blue screen death.
Repeat. Attempted to reinstall Norton (I'm persuaders and hopeful). Installation says it's going ok. Better than before! Looks good. Click on icon. It opens! Offers to show me four helpful tips that will... Do something I won't ever get to see, because it took me to the blue screen of doom.
No more. I have lost patience. I've contacted Amazon in the vague hope of help with a product that is not working. But I won't be using this again.

For the second year in a row, the CD has failed to download properly, with intialisation errors. The recommended fix didnt work, and when I contacted Norton I got a message that it was 'out of hours'

Been using Norton Internet Security for a couple of years now. It slows the computer but not too badly. Now using it on three PCs. Much cheaper on Amazon than doing an auto-renew.
This one wouldn't complete the install from the disk, but the auth code on the box worked with the download direct from Symantec so no problem.
As someone else noted, it is worth checking you've got the right version under "Support"-"About", the lastest is 21.1.0.18. One of our PCs needed a prod to update.

As I was just "renewing" my 2013 subscription I did not need the CD just the new key. This was not made clear in the instructions and eventually after a bit of heartache and frustration It was loaded through Norton website but it was not a very user friendly process.
