5.0 out of 5 stars A replacement for my Mid 2011 iMac., 4 Feb 2014
Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Apple iMac 21.5-inch All-in-One Desktop PC with Magic Mouse and Wireless Keyboard (Intel Core i5 2.7GHz Processor, 8GB DDR3 RAM, 1TB HDD, 5400rpm, Intel Iris Pro, Face Time HD Camera, OS X Mountain Lion) (Personal Computers)
This is a replacement for my Mid 2011 desktop Mac and there are many improvements over my existing machine. Everything is a lot faster on the new model, Late 2013, and the most noticeable feature is the non reflective screen. There's no built in disk drive on the new Mac's but to be honest I didn't use it very much anyway. That said, for an extra fifty pounds I purchased one just in case. The item was advertised with Mountain Lion but arrived with Marvericks already installed and it was also boxed in the new design carton, excellent!

The final word must go to Amazon for sourcing the very latest Apple products at competitive prices and shipping.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect! And a great price., 6 Dec 2013

This review is from: Apple iMac 21.5-inch All-in-One Desktop PC with Magic Mouse and Wireless Keyboard (Intel Core i5 2.7GHz Processor, 8GB DDR3 RAM, 1TB HDD, 5400rpm, Intel Iris Pro, Face Time HD Camera, OS X Mountain Lion) (Personal Computers)
I had been looking around for this model for a while as wanted to make sure I got it for a good price from a trusted seller.
It arrived the next day, couldn't have been simpler to set up (thank you Apple!) and I love it!! I recommend buying the disk drive to go with it as they don't come built-in anymore.

5.0 out of 5 stars So much better than PC, 14 Feb 2014

I've been using windows based PC's since 1994 and after Microsofts latest version(win8/8.1) it was time to call it a day. I have had my iMac for a while now, with not ONE issue, i only wish i had made the switch a long time ago. I know this kit does not come cheap but believe me its well worth the extra cash. The after sale service you get from Apple is second to none not that i have needed to call them, but what i have heard from friends and family they are in a class of their own. The only worry i had about making the switch was getting familiar with the OS(Mavericks), after a couple of weeks i have now become very confidant with its interface. I seriously suggest you make the switch you won't regret it.

Brilliant transition from PC to Mac, you just let it get on with its jobs on its own
I now only run the PC for Microsoft Money, and oh I wish there was a decent iMac version of it

A great piece of kit. Easy to install and does what it says "on the tin". Bought the Super Drive with it to download software for other bits of kit I have and the extended warranty. I have 5 other computers, for business reasons, so well able to compare.

5.0 out of 5 stars Immaculate iMac, 2 Mar 2014

Years ago I bought my first iMac and there were several things wrong with it, the worst being a major colour gradation issue with the display and a similarly major set of imperfections in the keyboard's aluminium. Since then Apple seems to have perfected its production techniques to such an extent that the iMac is now, well, perfect.

Or almost perfect. It's gorgeous to look at and a joy to use. The display is now crisp and flawless. The supplied input devices are both wireless. With a quad-core i5 processor, Iris Pro graphics and 802.11ac Wi-Fi, it's sleek, fast and can handle virtually any task thrown at it. If the 21.5-inch display seems a little too small, it's simple to connect one or two larger monitors via its dual Thunderbolt ports.

What isn't so great is the fact that there are no longer any user-accessible RAM slots. This is a real shame, since upgrading the RAM is usually the one thing users with even minimal computer skills can perform without problem. I also don't like the placement of the SD card slot. It's on the back along with the rest of the connectors, but an edge-mounted slot would have been preferable (the edges of the iMac are now so thin maybe this wasn't even physically possible).

These are relatively minor complaints though. The latest iMac is a stunning machine, one that'll likely be hard to beat if you're looking for a high-end all-in-one desktop that will look great, work great and retain its value relatively well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great purchase, 5 Feb 2014

I have just bought this and its amazing, so different from windows and I am still learning how to navigate around the system.
It is so much quicker, no waiting about on pages to open and the email is top class.I bought the Apple USB super drive, office for mac 2011 and a thunderbolt gigabit adapter (which i did not need for ethernet connection) along with my i mac.
Have not used office yet but will soon as I only got the i mac 5 days ago.
If you are thinking about changing go for it, you will not be disappointed.
