Norton Internet Security 21.0 - 3 Computer, 1 Year Subscription [Download]

I have used Norton AV for years, because I believe that something as important as Anti Virus software has to be updated frequently, and that service costs.
So I want a product that I can trust.
I usually look for special deals about the time my annual subscription is due to expire, and this year the best around seems to be the download from Amazon.
HOWEVER - when I ran the install, it removed and then re-installed the 2013 version of the software (version 20.nn), instead of the 2014 version (version 21.nn) (look in Help>about to find the version number).
AND it removed my '36 remaining days' left from my previous subscription, and started again at 366 days. ie I lost 36 days subscription which is equivalent of 10% of the value of my old subscription.
SO - Now I still had the old version, set to run for 366 days instead of the new version set to run for 402 days.

HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I went to the Norton site and logged into my account where I saw that the 'New' software had been registered from todays date. Next to it is a 'Download' button, and since I had nothing to lose I ran the download again. This time it installed the correct version.
BUT I an still 36 short on my subscription which I doubt i'll get back (I have tried emailing Norton support so I will have to wait for their response)

To sum up.
1 DONT UPDATE YOUR EXISTING NORTON ANTI VIRUS SOFTWARE UNTIL THE DAY AFTER IT RUNS OUT OR YOU WILL LOSE OUT.
2 CHECK IN HELP>ABOUT THAT THE CORRECT VERSION HAS ACTUALLY BEEN INSTALLED. IT SHOULD BE 21.SOMETHING

I always use Norton for internet security. Never actually had a problem with it. It slows down internet explorer though. If you use chrome, there should be no problem.

Purchased and installed this product about two hours ago. Deliberately chose to do so from Amazon rather than a marketplace amazon associate to avoid any delays.

However the product downloaded but with only 314 days of subscription on it. In addition even the computer it was 'installed' on did not show up in devices available dropdown of the management section of the Norton menu. so obviously I could not install it on the other computers on my home network.

I contacted Norton thinking it must just be a glitch but Norton a) couldn't find my account which had registerd with Norton and b) when I gave them the product activation code they confirmed that there were only 314 days associated with the download and they could do nothing about it except point be back to the seller Amazon. Okay i can contact them by email or phone but what I wanted was an online chat so they could analyse the problem immediately ( no qualms on my part about handing over remote control to them but no such option).

Not happy that the Norton advisor despite being asked did guarantee that they would be asking Amazon to look into the problem from their end rather than leaving it for individual customers to seek an answer or worse for other customers to potentially download 'rogue' products and face similar problems.

Ok chilling on the rant, the product itself is probably good once it installs properly but the customer service was a tad too close to pants! Hope Amazon's response is more helpful and proactive in terms of considering the impact on future customers. What about people new to norton who might think 314 days is exactly what you get and a 'Year's subscription' is just an approximation or a simple metaphorical measure? Protect your customers Norton even if they didn't purchase directly from you! It's your product (good or not) and your reputation getting a kicking here!!!!

I made the mistake of ordering the download version of Norton Security which has come with an invalid product key!
It would seem from another review that I'm not the only one it's happened to. Amazon have been notified and a refund requested.

Product key issue resolved, and Norton downloaded, however, instead of a full year of cover I only have 322 days!
I really should have read ALL of the previous reviews, :-(.

I installed this product which apparently requires the removal of the previous security installation, (also a Norton product), although this was "complete" and the product in place, I am still getting alerts from Norton to tell me that my renewal is overdue and that my system is no longer protected. I have sent several messages to Norton but have had no replies of any description - at present I have no clue what so ever of my security status - believe it or not while writing this review the "renewal" warning came up again, I have no confidence at all in this product.

Installed and only got 320 days of subscription. Contacted Norton to find that my key was already registered in October. It doesn't even update in the V21.0 according to the software. Will be demanding an explanation from Amazon or off to a small claims court.

Downloaded it and then noticed that I had only 322 days remaining instead of 365. Got in touch with Norton and they advised me that the product key that Amazon had supplied was being used by 3 others users. They (amazon or whoever actually supplied it) are obviously selling the key multiple times. Will be demanding a refund

Very easy to purchase and download - presume will be up to Norton's usual excellent product as have used before.

I've been using Norton for several years now & don't have any problems with it. What I really liked was being able to download straight away from Amazon, so much easier.

I've been using norton for the past 4 years, it has improved a lot since I last used it back in the days. It runs great on a modern pc, it doesn't seem to slow my pc down at all. It runs scans when your pc is idle and the scans stop as soon as you start working thus doesn't slow your pc down while you work (not that I can say it slows my PC down even when I manually run a full scan)

Great price, for a great product which offers 1st class protection

BUT do NOT renew your license! It costs a lot more than buying a new box with a new key!

Also, remember that you're paying for the license, not the software itself.
The disadvantage of this is that if your license expires, you will not receive any updates and the software will stop working, so don't leave it to the last minute.
The advantage is, that if you buy the software now and then NIS 2015 comes out next year; you can upgrade for FREE as long as your license is still valid.
