Just wanted some extra back up for my pictures....I purchased extra storage taking me to 50Gb
1. Theres no progress bar when you upload from your computer, you have no idea of how the upload is going or if it has really started or finished uploading, only by going to the cloud drive website to view your files. Sometimes they look complete but when you count the pictures they are often not all there. Imagine doing that for every file to confirm everything is uploaded?. There are references to an upload bar on the web but it wasnt on my downloaded version and I uninstalled it downloaded it again just in case it had been missed somehow. Theres a tiny, tinly circular icon that whirrs round on your taskbar when you are connected but it doesnt say the progess , just 'updating' if you hover your cursor over it . You are completely in the dark as to progress.
2. When you drag folders from your picture files into the cloud drive box to upload it, the folder of pictures actually disapears from your own picture files. To avoid this I copied and pasted individual folders into the cloud upload box, but Amazons idea is that want your pictures to stay in the cloud drive folder on your computer, not in your picture files, ostensibly so that they update as you update them. As a result its connected the whole time , you cannot start the upload process yourself, pause it, stop it or switch it off completely .
I like to keep my pictures where I want them in their own picture file, not Amazons. Theres also a 2Gb limit on each file, and splitting them down to a sendable size is ridiculously time consuming.

This product is great for backing up your photo collection, videos and documents so you can view them on multiple devices.
Amazon give you 5GB for free which is great, and is enough for most usage if you manage it properly.
I use this to upload documents so I have access to them on the go from different devices, and also for backing up my photo collection from my phone to free up space. Also good for the obvious things like being able to watch videos on the go without taking up local storage but I think with device storage as big as it is now-a-days that's not the most useful thing about this.
The interface could be a bit more polished, not quite as intuitive to use as I would have liked (hence the 4/5) but it does the job.

Not at all happy with the Amazon Cloud, it great for saving music but I wanted to have a backup of my photos. In order to upload my photos to Amazon Cloud I had to install Flash player and Kindle Fire does not support Flash player.
Come on Amazon get your head in gear, it's really good that you offer this app for free but its only good if we can use it!!!
