Going Back Home

This is Wilko's swan-song and it's a fitting tribute to his wonderful guitar playing. Dynamic as ever, he's backed up brilliantly by 70 year old Daltrey who, while delivering his lines slower than Lee Brilleaux in the original versions, quite naturally for an old 'un, adds a gravelly depth to most of the songs. There is some great harmonica playing and the drumming is also excellent. All in all, it sounds like a bunch of very good musicians having a great time and it's a pleasure to listen to. Proper R&B;, to be played loud and often. God bless you Wilko.

Absolutely brilliant. This is a masterpiece and a total bargain at only �4.99. Wilco and Daltrey why not got together before this.

I have to say although I like Dr Feelgood and The Who I wouldn't have bought this album. But having read a review in classic rock mag giving it 9 out of ten I thought well it's only a fiver lets give it a try. Well I'm glad I did. It's brilliant can't stop playing it. All the songs are Wilco's that he wrote for Feelgood with the exception of a Dylan cover which I'd never heard before. Every track is full of great Wilco guitar licks and sassy harmonica which I love. But the bonus on this album is Daltery. He sings Wilco's songs like a man reinvented. The Who were never like this. It's a piece of Rock n Roll and Harmonica heaven. Short but full of toe tapping tracks. Even the ballad Turned 21 a song about lost youth is good. I recommend this album if you like Feelgood but even if you don't give it a try you'll be pleasantly surprised

Outstanding. I have been listening to it over and over. More than excellent, it just keeps getting better and better.

The musicians are clearly enjoying themselves and have put together some great tunes. Pretty simple stuff, not much more I can add

This album is great real good old fashioned rock music, Wilcos guitar playing is fantastic as is Rogers voice just buy it.

this is a great album and Daltrey does a very good job of replacing the late great Lee Brillo, if you are a feelgood fan then you will enjoy this.

Superb music, played how it should be by musicians who know...how it should be. Excellent - Mr. D's vocals as good as ever...and he's a pensioner (I think)! Good on ya Wilko!!
