This is a haunting, evocative tale of longing and missed chances. I found the plot fast-paced and the characters intriguing, and the emotional tension and competition between them made it all quite plausible. The constant undercurrent of things unsaid and secrets untold keeps you guessing throughout. This is a book about how the past can creep up on you and take you by surprise, throwing your ordered life into chaos as you are forced to confront feelings you had burried years before.
