Braun Oral-B TriZone 5000 Six Mode Power Toothbrush with Wireless Smart Guide Black Limited Edition

As a previous owner of the Oral-B 3000, I decided to upgrade to the TriZone 5000. The 3000 I had was an American one (I live in the UK) and whilst using an adapter I never had any problems with it other than it did get a bit hot from being on charge for a while. This was a fantastic brush but it was a bit dull on power. So after Christmas and an amazon voucher later, I purchased this one. I was a bit susceptible at first when seeing the size of the box as it is pretty big for a toothbrush. Upon opening the box, all the products were safely secure in the very good Styrofoam that doesn't go everywhere. All the items were in plastic bag type things too. So the brush was very safe in the box. This is one of the reasons I gave it 5 stars. The second reason is because although the brush takes about 24 hours to fully charge from the box (even my 3000 was the same) after that the battery life is very very good for a toothbrush. On a full charge it will last about 2 weeks (brushing twice daily) but you can top it up here and there. The display for the battery level is very helpful, (3000 did not have one and only flashed red when it needed charged) it has 3 bars, full, middle and low. (These are the levels of battery power) I am sure that these light up blue and when the brush gets to a critical level of charge it will flash red. So this is a drastic improvement on the 3000. Another great reason is that it comes with a few brush heads which are exceptionally effective in removing all the nasties from your teeth, they aren't too hard nor too soft. The tray to hold the brush heads is very strong but also plastic and feels cheap. But with the 3000 and this TriZone, I have yet to break the tray. The little timer is absolutely incredible. This alone would make me rate this product a high 3.5 to 4 stars. As the brush has 6 settings, it displays the setting at the top, has the timer, (which is a clock when not in use) then the the little circle at the side, this has 4 bars which show the quadrant you should brush in, it starts at the top right and goes clockwise, and is 30 seconds each for the normal brush or 45 seconds for the deep clean. This also shows a sad face if you press too hard, along with the red light on the back of the brush. Also there is a star system at the bottom which if you do the normal clean gets you 4 stars, and the deep clean gets you 5. the other settings do not affect this but they are very good settings to have. Some people may find it annoying to have this little timer but I think it is a really good idea to ensure a proper brush. This is a dramatic improvement over the 3000. One thing that may discourage people is the thickness of the brush, compared to the 3000 it is much thicker, but this is to allow a better grasp of the brush, I never had problems with the 3000's size and nor the TriZone. But for its bulk, it is very lightweight, lighter than the 3000 which is very handy when you spend 2-3 minuets brushing your teeth.

Overall this product is very good even though it does have flaws. The flaws are minimal and hardly noticeable when using it. I would recommend this to anyone who has a manual brush (once you go electric you will never go back!) and I would recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade to this. The price is a bit on the steep side but you will use this daily and for a long time, so it will easily make its money back for you. I am really glad I decided to buy this and I hope if you buy it you feel the same way about it!

I really rate the Braun brushes as the best I have used. After a brief flirt with a Philips one (very good in its own right) I decided to go back to Braun as I missed the choice of brush heads and their wide spread availability.

I went for the Black Edition for a change and because it was on offer.

The package though contains the brush, some tri-zone heads and the smart guide. I was disappointed to see there was no travel case like my older model one.

Charging is reasonably quick, though the initial one takes a good while as is to be expected.

Other than being black with a funky blue led trim it has a red indicator for when you are brushing too hard and it will also stop pulsing to let you know. Build quality is fantastic and I prefer the larger size in use to the Philips I had.

There are six cleaning modes so there is a setting to suit most I would imagine. I use it almost exclusively in daily clean mode which is just right for my needs.

In terms of brush heads I was unsure about the new tri-zone head but after some months I would not now change back to the precision clean head, though I have tried. The tri-zone is spot on for me and mimics a regular brush to some degree.

There is a brush timer for 2 minutes and it pulses every 30 seconds to prompt you to move to the next quadrant of your mouth. The smart guide unit provides a visual representation to prompt you also and also tells you what cleaning mode you are using. It awards stars for completing cleaning and to be honest I find it a lot more useful than I thought I would. What’s interesting is the upcoming 7000 series will link with your smartphone to provide this functionality. Not sure at the moment if I would faff with my phone but that said it could be a useful tool to feedback to a dentist.

Overall this is my favourite brush to date and I can overlook the lack of travel pouch as these can be had separately.

We have been using these toothbrushes for over 20yrs and they have only got better. Your teeth never feel as clean and look as white. May seem expensive to some but worth every penny and certainly worth the outlay!!!

I bought two of these eToothbrushes at full price: one for my son; one for me, so that when he visits, he needn't cart the whole unit and charger around the country. Days later, it was an Amazon special offer at about a third of the price I paid. But it's a very good product, just somewhat overpriced.

I don't always give five stars for the products I review unless they're REALLY good, but I will gladly offer all five for this item. I've been using rechargeable electric toothbrushes for about ten years, and I can't live without them any more!

If you have never used an electric brush before, I strongly recommend it, because it's easy, quick, thorough and good for your gums too, because it gives good massage to them.

I think it must be much more efficient than brushing manually in a traditional way. It'd also be a good brush for your kids too, to have their teeth cleaned without much stress!

After two minutes, it will have cleaned and polished your teeth and will have massaged your gums, and all you have to do is put the brush surface on your teeth from side to side, top to the bottom, inside & outside - that's all! Job done! Easy! After that, I'd use some mouth-wash like Listerine for 30 seconds, and I feel fresh and ready to go out to the outside world with confidence!

FYI: This product comes with a special brush head Braun Oral-B EB30-2 TriZone Replacement Rechargeable Toothbrush Heads, and its a superb brush head! I absolutely adore it.

The main body is much thicker than previous models, which I find easier to hold steadily. There are four modes of brush head movement, so you can choose the best one you like. It beeps every 30 seconds when it's time to move the brush head to other parts in the mouth, so it helps you clean evenly and more thoroughly.

Only one tiny issue is that recharging time lasts up to 24 hours, probably because of it's size and functionality, but as I use it twice a day I have to remove it from the charger, which I don't really like to do. But apart from this, I think it's obvious that Braun must be trying hard to improve their tooth brushing technology, and I can feel it with this latest model - worth the money!

I have been very fortunate to acquire this top end model toothbrush to review. I was also fortunate enough to get the basic Trizone 600 model too to review so I can compare and see whether there is justification for demanding �79 for a toothbrush.
This Trizone 5000 limited edition comes with a digital wireless smart guide which has a LCD screen with timer and zonal read out. Its more of an visual information aid. Helps as this toothbrush has 6 modes of operation (sensitive, whitening, deep clean, massage, tongue clean). The digital display will display which mode you are using. Also the digital display shows the 4 zone brushing with 4x30sec zones. The mouth is divided into four zones to get optimum cleaning. This brush has 40,000 pulses/min with 8800 strokes. This is the same as lesser models. The brush also features pressure monitor, it will flash red if too much pressure is detected and also a battery life indicator with three stages.
Battery life is 10 days. Took well over 24hr to charge from fresh. The unit comes with a stand, brush holder two standard heads and one deep cleaning head, charger unit and digital wireless display. The other 'limited' edition feature is the snazzy black and silver colour.

The cleaning result is great. I certainly felt the toothbrush to provide a good level of cleaning. My main purpose to try a electrical toothbrush is to see whether the results are good as they say. While the lateral strokes offer good cleaning I think the forward backward strokes would have benefited. Luckily the brush allows for interchangeability of heads.

So is it worth paying four times more than a basic model? Only if you are after all the above extra features. Me personally, I don't need any of the above features or see the justification paying for these. My wife on the other hand prefers a sensitive mode of operation, therefore she will inherit this model and I will swap to the basic 600. As a user, you need to require all the features this brush is providing to see whether a) you need it, b) whether you will use it. I cannot personally see the justification of the price tag at �79. There are less expensive models which offer less features but possibly better value for money.

Quality product at a fraction of the high street prices! Got mine during the black Friday deals for a cool �41.99!!!

The toothbrush is very stylish in black and silver, with blue illumination. The initial charge took about 24 hours. The unit doesn't come with a travel case which is a pity.
I've tried to show some of the features in the video.
In use the toothbrush was a huge difference to a manual brush, teeth felt really clean.
Although the toothbrush has 6 different modes after the initial novelty we found we only use the daily clean mode; the toothbrush momentarily stops and beeps every 30 seconds to alert you to move to another quadrant of your teeth so the clock timer isn't strictly necessary. Strangely if you continue brushing after 2 minutes the "happy face" starts winking!
The unit comes with a 2 year guarantee which is extended to 3 years on registration.

I've never had an electric toothbrush and I was so surprised when I have tried it for the first time. It was amazing and my teeth were really clean, smooth and polished. I could feel it for all day long. Unbelievable what a difference. ..The only one thing is that charging is taking far to long. But worth it anyway and the price in my opinion is reasonable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

got this because are old braun oral-b had become a bit tried . this is the best toothbrush I've ever had and the timer is fantastic
