Gripping,
This review is from: In the Blood: A Genealogical Crime Mystery #1 (Jefferson Tayte) (Kindle Edition)
Read this as it was chosen as book of the month for Goodreads Kindle forum group, and I loved it. Very well written and flows smoothly between historical and present day. Lots of twists and turns and you couldnt be sure until the end of each characters nature,it certainly kept me guessing and I had to keep going until i'd finished it in 2 nights. I would def recommend this and look forward to reading more from this writer.

What can I say about this book? It is a fantastic début book from a brilliant writer. From the first page I was totally engrossed in an epic tale that spread over several generations of family history. I thought I had the mystery solved, but I was totally wrong and the last few pages had my heart going at full speed! The final part of the mystery is not revealed until the very end and what a tragic story it was. I felt tears in my eyes reading the final explanation. I was going to read for a few minutes when I went to bed, but when I looked up two hours had passed, I was so involved in the story. I spent many happy holidays in Cornwall as a child, and this book bought so many memories back as I reading about the places in the book. The descriptions are brilliant, and if I could I would give the book 10 stars. This book is worth way more than the price charged, and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anybody.
Many thanks for a brilliant read. :)

This was one of the first books I got on my Kindle. I bought it because I love Family History and Detective stories (the 2 seem to go hand in hand). And have read many others of this ilk including those by Dan Waddell.
What can I say, I loved it. Read it in one sitting. Loved the main character. Very good narrative and descriptions of places. Could not fault it and am eagerly awaiting a follow-up.

I am another of the Goodreads forum Book of the Month readers and found In the Blood to be a well written and very enjoyable book. It was for me 'a can't put it down' read. I was not too sure I would like it before I started but once I had, well, there was no stopping me. I shall look forward to more from Steven Robinson. Oh Yes Indeed!

I loved the idea of this book from the product description and found it a very gripping read. The movement from past to present was smooth (it isn't always) and the characters were realistically drawn. I found that I cared about them - always a good sign in a novel. Good and bad characters were not obvious from the beginning and the book is a real page-turner.
Several times I thought I had worked out what was going on but each time I was wrong! It was a particularly well-wrought story and I hope the writer has more to come.

I loved this book and sorry that it isn't in paper form so I can distribute to the non digital readers with whom I would like to share.
I felt like I was stealing this at the price and would like to see Steve get more out of it than he possibly is. seems scandalous that book 2 is not yet published in any form. What is going on in the publishing World ?! If you like a good yarn, well written, splash out !

Gripping,
This review is from: In the Blood: A Genealogical Crime Mystery #1 (Jefferson Tayte) (Kindle Edition)
Intriguing in most parts absolutely gripping in some. The story is based around genealogy and Cornwall which coupled together would make any book appear interesting but the author cleverly flips from the present to the past weaving the stories together. The situations Jefferson Tayte (the genealogist) finds himself in are a time a little incredulous but do not let this put you off reading this book, it is an excellent read. As with any family history nothing is what it seems to be. The ending is so unexpected and riveting. A brilliant book and one I would highly recommend.
