Great style encouraging a whole new audience of reading. When you open it you are submerged into it. I think there is going to be a huge younger generation of Agatha fans, she is very much on view where we live down in Devon, in the summer you can't go very far without seeing her books. I bought this for one of our sons who was leaving home(early 20's), I was uncertain when purchasing it, but he grew up around the area of her home on the Dart and he absolutely loved it.

The new contempary design is brilliant.

Dead Man's Folly was the first Agatha Christe book I read and I havn't look back since. The basic plot without spoilers has Poirot contacted by his old friend Ariadne Oliver, who has been asked to organise a "murder Hunt" at a country mansion. She has a feeling that things are not quite right and it's not long before she is proved right.

The book is typical Agatha Christie ie murder at a country house who an interesting assortment of characters. Poirot is on form too picking out the clues and until all is revealed. The book moves at a nice pace with no foul language are graphic gore or sex which makes a nice change from alot of modern books.

As I said before this is the first Christie book and it's one of my favourites. If you enjoy a classic whodunit from the "Queen of Crime" then this book is for you.

As a diehard Agatha Christie fan, I'm always interested in new interpretations of her great novels, so I was immediately intrigued to see how well they would adapt to the graphic novel format.

The book is hardback, approximately A4 size and runs to 46 pages. The illustrator, Marek, has interpreted Christie's slightly caricatured cast of characters well and has also brought out some of the humour and lightness of tone that always make her books a joy.

Dead Man's Folly features Poirot and his novelist friend Ariadne Oliver investigating the death of a young girl murdered during a village fete. The plot is easy to follow in this format, though as to be expected much of the investigation is very abridged. This may act as a good introduction for older children to Christie's books, and I'm sure would also be an interesting curiosity for established fans. Good fun.

Living in Devon near the river Dart (the river Helm in the book), and having visited Greenway house, I was obviously attracted by this book, and I enjoyed the setting and the descriptions of the places, because I've been there. However this is a personal reason, and, trying to be impartial, I would rate this as a good, but not extraordinary, book.
The solution to the case is very ingenious indeed, but it is not built clue after clue. Rather, it follows a conventional plot until the solution is exposed at the very end of the book, as if Poirot had a sudden insight, drawing from evidence that was not revealed before. Also, the solution is quite far fetched.
Overall I enjoyed the book, but I think it will lose some appeal for a reader not that interested in Agatha Christie's places.

After a some rather feeble late Poirot offerings, I really enjoyed this. Christie is back to the scenario she is most familiar with: upper middle-class England, living in Devon, landed gentry forced to sell the family home..... The house evokes memories of Christie's own house, Greenway near Dartmouth, Devon; the house is of similar antiquity, has a pictureque boathouse, and is surrounded by woods, even if only half the area of woodland in the novel. Greenway is an NT property and well worth a visit - lovely house, fascinating history, glorious location, and excellent tea and cake!.

In spite of Poirot being invited down to prevent a murder, there are eventually three! A cast of well-drawn characters stage a fete at a country house in Devon, including a murder game devised by the gargantuan detective-story writer Ariadne Oliver. Guess what...? The plot is well-constructed and moves along at a good pace. Christie's racism has moved on from Jews (unacceptable after the Holocaust) to stereotyped Europeans - but you can always chose to interpret it as a feeble attempt at humour. The puzzle is fiendish, I failed to solve more than half of it even with, in retrospect, the most outrageous clues. Fortunately, Poirot is made of sterner stuff, although he doesn't crack it until very late on.

definitely for christie fans, these books are reproduced in their original style: it becomes part of the reading experience! Dead Man's Folly - with the bonus of ariadne oliver- is a good story, told in christie's usual economic style and with believable characters. This edition is well worth the purchase for keeping on the shelf to treasure.

This book has got it all- a thrilling murder mystery, hilarious and gripping characters, Ariadne Oliver and, of course, Hercule Poirot. All you need for some hours of sheer entertainment.

Oh, man, I was impressed by this one! I was completely giving up on Agatha Christie until I ordered this from Amazon and I was just blown away!! I thought I might of had a fix on the killer but she turned me around completely at the end!
I recommend this HIGHLY. You will love this if you like mysteries and even if you don't you will love it,too. There was so much suspense--this is just a work of genius!!!!!!!
