I got this book as a recommendation and I am glad I did. It does not count among my top genres but I enjoyed the story. The story has a fascinating premise and a good opening prologue. Well observed characters and a smooth flow of the story come with good dialogue and prose. The descriptions are vivid and colorful. Overall, a story that will strike a chord with its target readership. In Cold Blood and Triple Agent Double Cross are my recent surprise reads. I am glad I picked it up.
This outstanding memoir by James Frey's articulating his struggles to put his pathetic , addicted, broken life back together is written with such realness that most addicts can relate to it. One gets awed from the beginning by the author's writing skills as well as the gripping nature of the story. Not only has it so many lessons in it, I also find it inspirational. Like The The Grandmothers by Janvier Chando, Smashed by Koren Zailckas, and other interesting stories out there, A Million Little Pieces easily brings tears, sighs, laughter and phew in different turns.
Archer's A Matter of Honor is, I think, one of the best thrillers out there, and one of my most riveting reads. I has almost everything that makes a thriller a book not to put down ' from a rich plot full of intrigues, timely revelations and breath-taking suspense; to characters that are colorful, rugged, vicious, smart and daring; to a setting that is far-reaching, complex and fascinating. The encompassing nature of this story brings to mind the story of Gavin in Triple Agent Double Cross. If you are looking for a full thriller, one that has adventure, murder, integrity, values and love, A Matter of Honor is the book to read.
