The M6 Comfort is equipped with a range of useful health indicators. With the easy blood pressure level indicator, which features an LED light, you can see at a glance if your blood pressure is normal or high. The morning hypertension tracking function and irregular heartbeat detector provide additional insight into your vascular health.
With the LED cuff wrap guide, a red light shows if the cuff is wrapped incorrectly (too loose or too tight), and a green light shows if the cuff is wrapped correctly. The Intelliwrap cuff technology on the M6 Comfort model is designed to improve accuracy by reducing the effect of incorrect cuff placement.

Eliminate inaccurate readings associated with incorrect positioning with Omron's Intelliwrap cuff technology. Intelliwrap features a longer inner tube that wraps all the way round the arm, rather than partially, so no matter where you position it – even at 180 degrees from the artery – you can feel confident about the accuracy of your reading.
Hypertension – what is blood pressure?
- The heart is a very powerful pump that beats steadily
- The pressure created by the heart to pump the blood through the blood vessels is called blood pressure
- When the heart muscle contracts the blood surges through the arteries – this is when the systolic (upper) blood pressure value occurs
- The diastolic (lower) value is the resting pressure before the heart contracts again
- Ideally your blood pressure should be below 140/85 mmHg

As was recently told my blood pressure was a bit high thought I'd better keep an eye on it which is why I go this fully automatic upper arm monitor. As the conventional ones are sometimes very painful this ensures that cuff inflates neither too tightly or too loosely. The dual check system ensures that the sensor performing the reading is checked by a second sensor to ensure greater accuracy. unique cuff wrapping guide icon shows when the cuff is wrapped correctly. The Comfort Cuff is a unique pre-formed cuff that can be adjusted to suit a variety of arm sizes and shapes. so found it very easy to use and can get results at an instant without having to wait for GP appointment.

This is a superior machine for checking blood pressure and recording the pulse. It is simple to use, in no small part, due to the shaped cuff which makes it easy to put on with one hand.
The instructions for its use are simple to follow. It has the facility to keep a record of the results taken over a period of time. It is also possible to record a second person's results as well.
My mother in law, a practising nurse, thinks it is a vast improvement on any other machine she has used and rates it highly.

Omron is a well recognised brand for medical equipment chosen by healthcare professionals. Having used the device for several weeks the readings seem comparable to other Omron and non Omron devices and it is highly recommended.
The Omron M6 comfort comes with a black case for storage. It is supplied with 4 AA batteries which were easily fixed into the display housing. The product comes with a clear instruction book with text and diagrams in English, French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Arabic and Russian. This 250+ guide fits snugly into a pocket in the storage case.
Operation
The cuff is semi rigid and is linked to the monitor with a flexible cable, and is designed for arms 22-42cm in diameter.
Initially one sets the date and time, press the start button and the device inflates the cuff and takes a reading.
The machine flashes to show it is working, and a bar increases as the pressure rises. Normal BP 135/85 is illustrated on the bar. It then gives a reading of BP with an indicator light green for normal range, orange for mildly elevated and red for high. Pulse rate is displayed also. The display unit is large with big buttons, the monitor clear with large characters great for those with visual problems, although the contrast cant be changed.
There is a cuff guide lamp which lights green if the cuff is positioned correctly. BP should be taken in a resting state. A light will come on if there is too much movement. The device will indicate if the heat beat is irregular. If your systolic pressure is greater than 210mmHg then the start button can be held down at start up and the machine will apply a greater pressure.
Memory functions

I would hazard a guess, and I emphasise it is only a guess as I have no medical training whatsoever, that there are a great many people taking medication for high blood pressure unnecessarily The reason being so called 'white coat syndrome' where your blood pressure soars or is at least elevated in the presence of a doctor. .
However, I think nowadays the medical profession is beginning to prefer an average of BP measurements taken at home with a good monitor over the course of a week as a more accurate indicator to a one off reading taken in surgery.
The Omron M6 comfort then is ideal for the purpose of home measurement. Omron, is a trusted name and one of the world's leading manufacturers of blood pressure monitors. The M6 is an excellent machine with a comprehensive, large easy to read display with coloured reading indicators, a difficult to get wrong cuff and you can view your morning/ evening average reading. Another great feature is that it can store the data of two people. With this machine you can keep an eye on your health and supply your doctor with accurate information.
