A-Z London Street Atlas Super Scale by Geographers A-Z Map Company
A-Z London Street Atlas Super Scale by Geographers A-Z Map Company

The 9 inches to 1 mile scale of this handy atlas (at 8" x 5" it will fit in most coat pockets) provides very clear mapping for in particular the West End, the City and Docklands. It covers the central area from Shepherd's Bush in the West to London City Airport in the East, and includes the Olympic Park at Stratford. Apart from the street index there is an index of rail, underground, DLR, riverbus and overground stations, together with full details of the Congestion Charging Zone and location maps for West End theatres and cinemas. There is full coverage of local landmarks, utilities, toilets etc.

This was just the detailed atlas for Central London that I was looking for,… Read more

There is a fine contribution from the Czech mezzo Magdalena Kozena in the last movement, conveying a child's eye view of Heaven. Claudio Abbado is fully at home in this work. It sounded perfectly OK via my Blu-ray player… Read more

I happened recently to catch Anne-Sophie Mutter and Lambert Orkis on Sky Arts 2 playing the Sonata in E flat K302, and thought what enjoyable music. Wanting to explore this to me unknown field further I bought this album, partly on the strength of reviews elsewhere, and partly knowing Henryk Szeryng to be one of the finest violinists of his generation, and Ingrid Haebler as a noted Mozartian. They are a winning combination in this music.

Mozart wrote some 35 sonatas for violin and piano, of which nos 1-16 are 'juvenile' works. This Philips Duo double album, along with Volume 1, covers most of the middle and mature works. Some of the writing is very attractive and tuneful, but… Read more
