Delivery Rates and Expectations

Amazon collects a per-item postage fee from the buyer and passes it on to you to help cover your postage costs. The credit you will receive depends on the product category of the item you are selling and the delivery method selected by the buyer.

Dispatch is required even if the postage amount credited to your account does not cover all  delivery costs.

All sellers are required to offer Domestic Standard delivery; they may also elect to offer Domestic Express Delivery UK.

Domestic shipments include addresses in Mainland UK, PO Boxes, Channel Islands, Northern Ireland, Outer Hebrides and BFPO addresses.
  • Standard Delivery
The buyer should receive their order within 3 to 5 working days of the dispatch date. Delivery standards depend on your settings and eligibility to offer reduced shipping times.
  • Express Delivery UK
The buyer should receive their order within 1 working day of the dispatch date.
For dispatches to the UK from EU and EEA countries, the buyer should receive the order within 3-18 working days of the dispatch date.
For dispatches to the UK from other countries, the buyer should receive the order within 7- 23 working days of the dispatch date.
  • International shipments
Orders should arrive within 3 and 12 working days of the dispatch date for deliveries in Europe, 6 to 10 working days for deliveries in North America and Japan, and between 8 and 12 working days for deliveries in other countries. If you are posting overseas, you must use airmail. If you are posting to Western Europe, remember to select Airmail delivery in conjunction with printed paper rate or small packet rate as this is cheaper. Attach a Royal Mail By Airmail--Par Avion sticker (available from any Post Office) or write By Airmail--Par Avion in the top left-hand corner of your parcel.

Terminology

Handling Time + Transit Time = Estimated Delivery Time

  • Handling Time: The amount of time that elapses between when the customer places an order and the seller hands the order to the delivery service.
  • Transit Time: The amount of time that elapses between when the product or shipment is on the loading dock to when it appears on the customer's doorstep.
  • Estimated Delivery Time: The amount of time that elapses between when the customer places an order to when it appears on the customer's doorstep.

Fees and Pricing

When your item sells, Amazon collects the amount paid by the buyer (including the item price and any postage, gift wrap, or other charges). Only Professional sellers can offer gift wrap.

Amazon deducts as a referral fee a percentage of (i) the item price and (ii) any gift wrap charges, in each case excluding any taxes collected through Amazon tax collection services, plus a variable closing fee, if applicable. Sellers who do not pay a monthly subscription fee also pay a per item fee for each item sold.

Amazon platform delivery rates apply to all items sold.

Here's how it works:

Item price
+ Delivery charges paid by the buyer
+ Gift wrap charges paid by the buyer
- Referral fee (applicable percentage of the item price and any gift wrap charges paid by the buyer)
- Variable closing fee, if applicable.
- £0.99 per item fee (waived for sellers who pay a subscription fee)
-------------------------------------
= Total deposited to seller account
