This is the first shaker I have bought but it is perfect, I use it to mix my protein shake, in about 15 seconds of shaking it is all completely mixed. No lumps at all. I think its all down the to metal ball and I would recommend paying a couple of pound more to get it with the ball.

I bought a Lucozade shaker before and that was not very good, plus it was more expensive... but this one's just wonderful! Whatever you mix up in it, there's no smell after the shaker's been washed (unlike the Lucozade one). The shaker ball works wonders in breaking up even small lumps. The lid is easy to screw on correctly - you dont have to try and try again before it fits into the grooves. I must say that I like my milk- and protein-shakes very much better from my Mix-Ball Shaker Cup. If you're looking for a convenient, workable, economical shaker, this is the one, folks!

This Shaker was bought as a replacement for an old MET-RX Shaker, where the seal had gone.
There are several differences, my MET-RX Shaker, had the "traditional" removable gauze/sieve panel at the top, while the PhD has a whisking ball. This surprisingly makes a huge difference, the shakes are now smoother with less shaking and doesn't need to be perfectly seated unlike the old MET-RX. The lid is easy to fit and seals 100% of the time, and the "cap" going over the mouth is made of pliable plastic and fitted on a hinge so it won't harden and break (like the MET-RX).
The only drawbacks with the PHD is the embossed measuring levels, which are only on 1 side and no where near as easy to see and read as the MET-RX, and the "cap" doesn't clip on meaning you have to be careful if you carry your shaker filled.
The PhD Nutrition Mixball Shaker is a great little shaker, and while it is almost exactly the same of hundreds (if not thousands) of other shakers, I still recommend it.

This is the 3rd or 4th shaker I have owned and it is the best by far: looks solid, there are no leaks when you screw the lid, the little opener does not get stuck when trying to open/close it... Coudn't be happier, well worth the money! It should last for ages!
