This monitor is superb. Load drivers, connect to laptop or desktop and you have a wonderful monitor for photo editing. Strange thing, though, is that the colours on browser are vivid, so you think, whoops, no good for editing my photos, but once photograph is loaded (on Photoshop, LR, or similar), the colours are fantastic and editing is so much more accurate than on a calibrated laptop or desktop screen. I watched some slideshows in Lightroom - fantastic. You can choose your colour space such as Standard, sRGB or Adobe RGB. The only slight downside is no speakers are incorporated, but I bought JBL Jembe speakers from PC World (on offer at �30) and they are unbelievably good, much better than my previous Logitech speakers which cost 3 times the price.
At less than �400 this monitor is a steal as Dell UK sells them at �550.

I was in two minds before I purchased this monitor as I had read all sorts of negative reviews about colour bleed, dead pixels, issues when scrolling etc. I may have been lucky, but I purchased this monitor for use with my Mac Mini and it is an excellent display. The colour is very accurate, I'm using the factory calibrated sRGB and Adobe RGB modes and they seem spot on. The standard U2413 monitor profile on Mavericks has washed out colours but if you choose the corresponding sRGB or AdobeRGB it works a treat.
I highly recommend this monitor. I also have a U2412, an excellent monitor, but if you need colour accuracy then there is no comparison. Having also owned a last gen Cinema display, this is my favourite so far.

There is really nothing more I can add to previous reviewers comments, it's all been said. This is an outstanding monitor with plenty of scope and flexibility to suit all comers. On my copy it does present a touch of red hue which appears driven by interpretation of screen content, changing dependant on whether document, photo or browsing.
It is my intention to purchase the Dell recommended color munki suited to calibrate this monitor, so perhaps that will change things.
