I first tried out love film, but the problem with them is; most of the films you want to watch are not on their instant stream system. Then I remembered Netflix, so I went to the site and checked it out. What I found was; everything I had been looking for. I have a seriously debilitating illness that can leave me stuck in bed for days and to help me, my loving hubby bought me the Kindle Fire HD to help me through these difficult times, so I can through using Netflix watch whole TV series I missed and any film they have and they have thousands. It is so easy to set up, they ask you to give them a list of genre you like to watch, by ticking boxes, the only typing required in the set up is; the same you would do when setting up anything on the web. They are having a free trial, it will cost you nothing for the first month, so you have nothing to loose and everything to gain by giving them a try. I will be staying with them. I hope you find my review helpful.

No, not a tinfoil hat conspiracy theory, but a fact people should be aware of. In examining what permissions this app has, I was surprised to find that Netflix can 'access and record' from both your camera and microphone. Now, why would it need to do either of those things, when it's a simple streaming app for tv and films that requires neither camera nor microphone to use it...?

That potential invasion of privacy aside, Netflix works perfectly on my old 3rd Gen Fire HDX, which considering its age, is a real plus point for me. Movies and TV shows stream without any issues, and there's a decent variety of TV shows to choose from.

Its weak spot, is films. It's a well known fact that in actual film content on the UK version of Netflix, it has invariably suffered compared to its U.S. version. So much so that Netflix was pressured by Hollywood into blocking access to their app by VPN from people outside the U.S. who simply wanted to watch the latest films, instead of A-list movies that came out at least 5-10 years ago ('Hunt For Red October' anybody?) or newer B-list and generic movies you've probably never heard of!

To make up for Hollywood's greed - both in the VPN debacle, which certainly cost Netflix subscribers at the time, and Hollywood demanding more and more money from Netflix for the rights to stream content - Netflix now makes its own movies and TV shows. These vary in quality, sometimes good, sometimes not so good.

What it doesn't do, is make up for the lack of new-ish blockbuster movies. It's a genuinely nice surprise when one turns up, like John Wick 3 did, recently. Personally, I hope that the boost in subscribers because of Coronavirus, coupled with Hollywood being shut down, gives them more bargaining power to improve their film selection. (Well, I can dream...)

Summing up, a decent app, works well on my old Kindle, good TV selection, rather weaker film selection, and some potential privacy issues. And because of the last 2 concerns, I've given it four stars, rather than five.

This has amazing graphics and has got series/movies for all ages. You can make make a profile for everyone in your family then choose their settings.(Kid only, etc.) Then you can let them play it. You have to pay monthly but it's worth it! The only thing that annoys me is it's not updated often, so if you want to watch something modern you will have to wait ages and if you try to skip forward to the moment you were on it can go pixelated. IF YOU WANT TO GET THIS GAME....GO AHEAD!!! Well done!

Wenn es jemanden gibt, der Jahrelang echter Kritiker von Netflix und Co ist, dann bin ich es. Ich war in der Vergangenheit nie der Fan von Portalen wie Netflix.

Ich wurde eines besseren belehrt. Ich habe Netflix damals wegen gewissen Originals für meine Kinder auf Probe abonniert und wollte es lediglich für einen Monat testen. Der Monat ist nun ein halbes Jahr her.

Die Oberfläche ist leicht zu bedienen und durch die Suchoption sind bestimmte Inhalte sehr leicht zu finden. Durch die Funktion Continue Watching kann man bei seinen Filmen bzw. Serien direkt dort weitermachen, wo man beim letzten Mal aufgehört hat.

Angenehm ist auch, dass Netflix nach einigen Folgen fragt, ob man weiterschauen möchte, zum Einen ist das Super, wenn einem die Sucht übermannt. Zum Anderen ist es super wenn man doch einmal vor lauter Alltagsstress einschläft. Weiter ist es angenehm, dass es ein Kinder Menü gibt, bei dem fragliche Inhalte automatisch ausgeblendet werden. Es können Profile erstellt werden, damit man seine eigene Vorlieben schnell griffbereit hat. Die von Netflix produzierte Serien sind von richtig guter Qualität und ich sehe sie mittlerweile fast schon lieber an, als die Serien und Filme anderer Produzenten. Die Auswahl ist richtig gut. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist mehr als Fair.

Ich empfehle Netflix auf jeden Fall weiter.

Of all the monthly bills I pay, the bill for my Netflix account is probably the only one I don't mind paying since it is such a great value. I love that their business model allows them to produce such a wide variety of shows and movies. I can't imagine any other network producing a full range of super hero shows (Daredevil, Jessica Jones), a movie quality old-west mini-series (Godless), a Pee-Wee Herman movie, a sitcom about a woman turning to a zombie (Santa Clarita Diet) and a show about women pro-wrestling set in the 1980's (GLOW). It is so great that they can take risks on shows like this on top of providing a pretty great range of shows from other networks. I think I realized last year that there are more Netflix shows I enjoy than shows on any other channel. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is probably my favourite show on tv.

The Netflix app on the Fire Stick works really well too. Much better than the version of the app on my Bell pvr and maybe even better than the app on the Roku stick. It is easy to search for specific things or just browse to look for something interesting and new. Content always loads fast without any playback issues. I like Netflix so much at this point that it would be really difficult to give it up.

Recently I bought a Fire Tablet and the Netflix app for that works perfect as well. It loads fast and downloading movies for watching while travelling is really easy.
