Kärcher K4 Home
The Kärcher K4 Home combines power & energy efficiency and is equipped with a water-cooled induction motor for enhanced performance and a longer life. In addition the Quick Connect hose system eliminates kinking and reduces set up times. Designed for use on various items including cleaning cars, bicycles and garden furniture, as well as medium sized areas around the home. An upright design, wheels and a long handle ensures mobility and the onboard storage solution means the trigger gun and accessories can be stored neat and safely with the machine. An impact-resistant recyclable plastic casing and fine mesh water filter prevent dirt particles from damaging the motor and three-piston axial-flow pump, whilst a safety valve prevents pressure overload. A pressure switch control switches the motor on and off when the trigger gun is pressed and released. All Kärcher K4, K5 & K7 Pressure washers can work using a static or harvested water source such as a water butt. Water can either be drawn using a Kärcher suction hose and filter or connected to a water butt tap.

Dirtblaster
Is a powerful rotary nozzle designed with a rotating pencil jet which provides up to 50% greater cleaning power than a standard high pressure lance, ideal for removing stubborn dirt on moss covered or weathered surfaces.
T250 Patio cleaner
For the splash-free cleaning of even surfaces such as patios and stone walls. Increased cleaning power with two rotating flat jet nozzles, this accessory can also be used on verticle surfaces such as garage doors.
Stone Plug & Clean detergent
A powerful stone cleaner with a 3-in-1 formula which offers exceptional cleaning performance due to the active dirt dissolver, as well as an efficient algae protection formula and wind & weather protection. Simply plug the container into your plug & clean facility or put the detergent suction tube into the container.
High-pressure hose
A 6m High-pressure hose which is simple to connect to your trigger gun and then can be securely attached to your unit with the quick click system.

Although this is my first power washer it's not the first I've used as my father-in-law has a heavy-duty one (different brand) that cost about twice this price and my Grandmother has one of the compact Kärcher's costing about half this price. It's been interesting to compare them and I'm happy to report the performance of this K4 easily rivals the more expensive competitor.
I took the Kärcher along with me on a trip to my Grandmother's as she has a bigger garden which hadn't been power-washed for two years making it the ideal workout for the K4 and so far this week the K4 has... washed the windows, cleaned the car, transformed the concrete slabs on patio and paths, spruced up the garden walls, revitalised the wood decking around the shed, cleaned the painted exterior of the shed and cleaned the concrete interior of a drained (and incredibly slimy) garden pond - and it's done it all without any fuss or bother. You get three tools (and two extension tubes) in this kit: one variable jet (good for more fragile areas or rinsing off detergent or as a water 'broom' to sweep away debris), one very high pressure jet (for blast-cleaning deeply stained areas like concrete or brick - strong enough to strip away paint too, use with care!) and a spinning patio cleaner (for cleaning slabs and decking). The only thing that felt missing was some kind of low-pressure brush to use on the car or on painted surfaces - but of course Kärcher offer suitable optional accessories.
The patio cleaner was a revelation, it looked a bit of a gimmick but it works really well and shifts even ingrained dirt without sending up clouds of dirty water in all directions. Read more ›

A very good product, very robust as with most German-designed and German-made products, and a fair price for such a hunky machine. DO read the assembly process carefully, it's not hard but must be assembled properly - and DO read the manual carefully - at full blast this is a VERY powerful machine, and you don't always need full blast, which can throw up mud and debris quite a distance. Always wear oldest clothes, and some sort of glasses - as you'll get spattered, no matter what! DO take care and follow the directions carefully when assembling the parts, and when attaching the operating wands and the accessories, such as the patio scrubber. The K4 is a brilliant tool if used properly as advised. My only small gripe is that I would have liked slightly bigger wheels, as the machine is quite heavy and a little bit tricky to move about, especially on a bumpy surface. I like the fact that you can slip most of the tools and bits into various slots and holsters on the machine, making storage and finding the right bit again much easier. All in all, another rugged and effective German product with much to be recommended about it!

I have a 5 year old Karcher K5.60 with T200 patio cleaner(still in perfect working order) so I was pleased to be able to review the new K4. I use my Karcher around the house - to clean the decking, wash the cars, clean the paving slabs and the driveway etc. The big yearly job is to scrub the deck before oiling it in the spring before the trees blossom (otherwise the blossoms get stuck in the oil coating!). For this I need 2 bottles of Ronseal Deck Cleaner and the Karcher with patio cleaner attachment. I put the K4 through its paces today and I am very pleased with the results. Firstly the K4 comes with vario lance, T250 patio cleaner and high pressure lance. It performed beautifully. Compared to the K5.60 it has a slightly shorter high pressure hose (6m versus 7.5m)and slightly less max pressure (130bar versus 140bar). I'm pleased to report that I couldnt tell the difference in performance at all. The deck is sparkly clean and waiting for the oil to be applied tomorrow! The big improvement in design is the mixer tank which is used for spraying detergent with the vario lance in mixer setting. On the K5.60 the tank was a plastic bottle that clipped in the back of the unit with a rubber seal which kept coming off. You could refill this but it was very unstable, kept falling off and leaking. The K4 has a new system where you plug in the bottle of detergent and its much more sturdy and doesnt fall out. The only minus is that my K5.60 came with a filter to connect to a water butt, while with the K4 this is an optional accessory that you have to purchase (for around 11 pounds it seems). The build quality is excellent and I expect this unit to last for many years. To summarise, the Karcher just got better!
