LG NB2530A 2.1 Channel 100W Speaker Bar with Built-In Subwoofer

Unlike its older brother this sound-bar does not feature any HDMI connections, it does however contain 2 Optical connections, Bluetooth, lg-tv connectivity, USB playback, and a portable Aux jack. The quality is brilliant for the price but the depth is lacking slightly until the volume is at ~60% output. It has no functionality to turn of the bright LED display, although this can be dimmed. Many of the EQ settings are junk, currently the only ones I've found useful are BYPASS (no EQ) and 3D effect; the 3D effect works well but only if you're over 2 meters away with a hard wall behind you. Even then it sounds artificial. The Upscaler option works well from the usb input, but creates echo on the other inputs. Bass and treble balance would have sufficed. The sub-woofer has its own volume control -10 -> +6 db. this works well for movies but should be kept about +4 for the best effect (tested on a range of music genres), possibly +5 for movies.

Good looking sound bar and some good features (BT Etc:) bass is very poor in my opinion the sound is not very "rich"
I bought one of these and had it for 4 days until I heard the sound from a Bush sound bar that was £50 cheaper.

Nice looking and very easy to set up. Sound quality a good improvement on the TV speakers and Bass is just about sufficient for my small ish room but would struggle in a larger room. Good multi functioning capability allowing me to play music from my iPhone via bluetooth very easily. Only slight downside is the display remains on throughout.

I was looking at soundbars with in built sub-woofers as this was for the bedroom and I did not require huge levels of base to annoy others in the house and the neighbours.

I was torn between this and the Yahama YAS-101 but as this item became available as a lightning deal for £50 cheaper than the Yahama I thought I would go for it.

I'm not disappointed in the least.

If you go into the market for a lower priced sound bar with no separate sub-woofer then of course you are not going to reach the same levels of bass. But the sound provided by this bar is a huge improvement over the standard TV speakers.

I also have an LG 2013 television with the magic remote and an LG Blu-ray player so the item matched up perfectly and was set up as soon as the item was plugged in.

The magic remote can be used to control the volume and input connections, the only thing it cannot do is switch between the different sound 'types'.

I also feel that there are a couple of unfair reviews here based on Amazons old product information and do not reflect the product itself.

Bottom line, if you want bass, get a sub-woofer... if you want full on surround sound, get a 5.1 or 7.1 system. Buy a system which is appropriate for what you are looking for. For me, this is just the job.

No more than 2 stars, nicely built, looks great quality provided you do not turn it on! The bass just does not cut it. Too tinny, no depth . Voices were enhanced but movies, music were not much better than the tv speakers. A let down, no good

Good price and a nice looking unit. Gives a hugely improved listening experience from standard LG 42 inch T.V. - particularly good on movies and any T.V. programmes with music content. Jeff

Description says 160w,but is only 100w! Advised Amazon of this misleading info but no change. Also it does not look like the picture. Kept item as was offered a discount, but now even cheaper at £119, original price £149.

Although I bought this particular item to suit my existing LG smart tv I had great difficulty in getting the bar sound bar to work! It did eventually and I am getting a better sound than that from the tv however all the facilities on the remote do not work! However the instructions left a lot to desire!

Just purchased and although an all round good speaker - wireless works fine etc. There is no way to turn of the bright LCD display on front of speaker and it is only 100W not 160 as advertised.improved tv sound and still waiting for Amazon to confirm if they are going to sell item described or amend listing!!!!!!!!!!
