Haunting and Evocative, 6 Dec 2013

This is the recording of a beautiful musical score of a superb film. Anyone interested in Celtic music will love this CD. The composer is new to me, but his composition is hauntingly lovely and moves the imagination. I enjoyed the film, but it was the music that cast its spell on me and I ordered it immediately after watching the movie.

An in depth analysis of the Passion., 6 Dec 2013

St John's Gospel has always been my favourite. I also happen to love the St John Passion, the Oratorio, by J.S Bach. Both these two aspects accompanied my reading of Michael Sadgrove's series of meditations on this Gospel. In his dedication the author says -

"For Jenny, because it is the Gospel of truth and friendship."

Sadgrove mentions in his introduction that the seeds of his book were sown over 40 years ago. He also refers to a performance of St John's Passion which played a key part in his coming to Christian faith. So the book is in a real sense the meditation of a life time.
