Why can’t I purchase using my Shopping Basket?

The process to purchase MP3 music on Amazon has changed. You will no longer need to add MP3 selections to your shopping basket, and all MP3 purchases will now take place by our "1-Click" purchase process. Upon clicking the button to buy MP3s, you will be asked to review your order, and your purchase will be completed using your preferred 1-Click payment method. MP3 purchases are stored for free in Cloud Player, where you can listen to or download your purchased music. Once you've completed your purchase, you also have the ability to download MP3 purchases directly to your computer without launching Cloud Player. 1-Click ordering for MP3s stays active even if you turn off 1-Click ordering for other purchases on your account.

What's the difference between Cloud Drive and Cloud Player?

Amazon Cloud Drive is Amazon's personal hard drive service in the cloud that allows you to securely store your videos, photos, documents and other files. You can also store music files in Cloud Drive, but Cloud Drive does not have a music player and cannot stream or play your music for you.

Amazon Cloud Player is Amazon's optimised music service that allows you to store, manage and play your music anywhere from the cloud.

Cloud Drive and Cloud Player are separate services, each with their own subscription offerings. Click the links below to learn more about the subscriptions offerings available for each service.

Why am I being asked to authorise my device?

Device authorisation is required by music rights holders. Amazon Cloud Player allows access from up to ten authorised devices; this includes mobile devices and different computers.

If you already have ten devices authorised and you would like to access your music files using Amazon Cloud Player from another device, remove a previous authorisation from the Amazon MP3 Settings page.

Why am I seeing an .amz file instead of an .mp3 file?

If you're seeing an .amz file, double click the file to begin the download. The Amazon MP3 Downloader will download your song in .mp3 format.

When you purchase an MP3 from Amazon, you may be prompted to open or save an .amz file if you have the Amazon MP3 Downloader installed. Opening this file activates the Amazon MP3 Downloader and initiates the download of your MP3 song files. Be sure to select "Open" instead of "Save" when prompted.
