  • All devices must be authorised in order to import or download music from Cloud Player, and some mobile devices may require authorisation before using the Cloud Player application.

    Authorising Devices

A device can only be authorised to one Amazon Cloud Player account at a time. Once a device has been authorised to an account, you will not be able to authorise it to a different account for 180 days.

To authorise your device, select Authorise in the pop-up window after attempting to stream, import, or download music from that device.

Amazon MP3 songs and albums can be purchased and played back from Cloud Player for web without authorising the device.

    De-authorising and Re-authorising Devices

When a device is de-authorised, it will take 30 days to be removed from Your Authorised Devices list.

    De-authorising a Single Device

Devices can be de-authorised from the Amazon MP3 Settings page. When a device is de-authorised, it will take 30 days to be removed from Your Authorised Devices list. Devices can be automatically de-authorised if they haven't been used in 90 days. To enable this setting, visit the Amazon MP3 Settings page.

    De-authorising All Devices

You can immediately de-authorise all devices at once from the Amazon MP3 Settings page once every 365 days.

    Re-authorising Devices

You can re-authorise a device from Your Amazon MP3 Settings page, or when you stream or download music from Cloud Player.

    Managing Authorised Devices

If there are 10 devices authorised to your account, you will not be able to import or download music from an additional device until you:

    • De-authorise a device and after waiting 30 days, authorise a new device in its place.
    • De-authorise all of your devices (this can only be done once every 365 days) allowing you to immediately authorise a new device.

    Transferring Device Authorisations

A device can only be authorised to one Amazon Cloud Player account at a time. You can de-authorise a device and authorise it to another account once every 180 days. To do this, log in to your device using the account you want to authorise it to. Download a song or album from Cloud Player, or import a song into Cloud Player, and you'll be prompted to de-authorise the device from the old account and authorise it to the new account.

This page provides a comprehensive guide on how to manage authorisation of devices in order to import or download music from Cloud Player.
