5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!
I saw this bag on another site but found it cheaper on here.

When I received it I thought it looked alittle small but I was so gladly wrong.

In the bag I can get my DSLR with a battery grib on it, Sigma 10-50mm, Sigma 70-300mm, Canon 50mm, flashgun, Remote, Battery's and so on......

Ive still got room in the top of the bag.

3.0 out of 5 stars Whoops! Not the 3N1 20
Okay, I admit it, I bought this by mistake, confusing it with the Kata 3N1-20! (From the outside, they look identical, so it's an easy mistake to make.) Kata's description says that the 123-GO family of backpacks is the entry level version of the 3N1 range, which has "more features". The only difference I have spotted is that the 3N1 range has some extra internal pockets,...

The straps are great. You can carry the bag in anumber of ways which is good and ive been on along walk with it now and feels very comfortable.

This bag does take a Tripod too, ONLY if you buy a Kata ZZ-STH-3N1 Tripod Holder which I also got from Amazon and still not used it yet so I cant comment on that.

10 out of 10 for this bag. Wish I got it sooner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just what I expected, 10 Aug 2010
This review is from: Kata 123-GO-20 Sling Backpack (Accessory)
Owning a little Lowepro bag for my Olympus E-620 + ZD 12-60mm lens, I was in need of something bigger to make room to the ZD 40-150mm and OM 50mm lenses as well as the grip (always on the camera now), a flash... and other things. Having seen this backpack on Amazon at a good price I didn't doubt much to buy it.
First, its construction is really good, a tough bag with its rain cover just in case: this is important! It is not that much padded in the bottom but I have found it to be alright in this respect too. Easy to carry and use even if you "unexpectedly" have to take your camera out of it quickly.
Another important thing to know is that it's not the kind of backpack that makes you sweat (I've first used it in Cuba, so trust me), being very comfortable to carry. Any weight you put into it will make you suffer however (gravity will still be at work), so it is a good idea to unload it a little when you're not just transporting your gear from A to B.
Its various positions may help in different situations, but I find the "traditional" one to be the best.
Perfect in measures as hand baggage on planes. Slightly below 5 Kg. fully loaded with the abovementioned gear plus sunglasses and some filters, cables, a compact camera, batteries etc.
All in all, go for it if you need a great, capable backpack for your beloved camera.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality, good design, 26 Jan 2013
This review is from: Kata 123-GO-20 Sling Backpack (Accessory)
Absolutely it is a good product with excellent quality.
This product is very fitting to the body and very ergonomic.
But the long strap makes this bag a little difficult to carry, so it should be trimmed if you take it off.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great quality but too narrow for me., 4 May 2013

Delivered quickly and the quality is excellent and a great price.
I sent it back just because it turned out to be too narrow for me. I could not get my Nikon with a 70-200mm f2.8 attached in the side access, as backpack is not quite wide enough. Does cope with the 24-70 f2.8 though. Pity, as I like the bag but I use the 70-200 so often it didn't seem sensible to keep it, so got a bigger one.
Hence the 4 stars but otherwise would give it 5.

5.0 out of 5 stars Large enough for most DSLR and non-DSLR systems, 27 Mar 2013

From the on-page image, this bag appears to be extremely large but it is in reality no more than mid-sized. I have bought several bags that suited my systems at various stages, but as I added another body or lens, my system quickly outgrew the bag's limits. Although made to house a DSLR system, I have both APS-C and M43 systems, the latter being the more comprehensive.

Due to the smaller size of M43 lenses relative to those of APS-C and full-frame systems, I had been able to sometimes stack one above another within a single case 'cell' where the lenses are smaller in size.

This case provides space for a boy with lens attached plus several additional lenses, a flash gun, accessory exposure/flash meter etc all within its two main sections, plus several filters, additional batteries and additional storage media in one of the two small accessory pockets.

There is a form of security in that the lower section is accessible by 3/4-way zips around left- and right-hand portions that are protected from opening by a covering tab connector system on each side. All the internal separators are padded and there is an internal zipped section connecting upper and lower compartments. There is also a rain cover to waterproof the bag and contents in the event of heavy rain or snow which is normally stored in the lower section.

Buying this as a 'Deal of the Day', I was able to benefit from a significantly lowered price. It is therefore excellent value for the price paid.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love it, 26 Jan 2013

This is brilliant I can always have my camera at the ready so I'll never miss any scene that needs fast action to capture. And the bag also supports my camera when needed and I can also carry a lightweight tripod or monopod. Brilliant.

3.0 out of 5 stars Whoops! Not the 3N1 20, 16 Jun 2010
This review is from: Kata 123-GO-20 Sling Backpack (Accessory)
Okay, I admit it, I bought this by mistake, confusing it with the Kata 3N1-20! (From the outside, they look identical, so it's an easy mistake to make.) Kata's description says that the 123-GO family of backpacks is the entry level version of the 3N1 range, which has "more features". The only difference I have spotted is that the 3N1 range has some extra internal pockets, but otherwise, I'm not sure what those "extra features" might be.

Having bought it by mistake, I have to say that I am reasonably happy with it and, frankly, I'm just too lazy to change it for the 3N1-20 I meant to buy! I wanted a backpack style bag rather than a shoulder bag, as I have had some back problems in the past, and I also wanted quick access, so this bag ticks the right boxes for me.

The bag holds more than I thought it would. I have a Nikon D90 with an 18-105mm kit lens attached, a 55-200mm zoom and a 50mm prime, flash, the battery charger and some filters in the main compartment, and room for a cagoule and some sandwiches and other stuff in the top. It is worth saying that the top compartment zips open like a lid, so you feel confident that things won't accidentally fall out when you open it. The main compartment has very adjustable padded sections, but although it is easy to get the camera out from the side, you may find that the top of the main compartment can be difficult to get at. It is worth having a look at the Kata website where they have videos for the 3N1 bags, including one showing how best to arrange the internal dividers.

Like many bags in this price range, padding is okay, but not brilliant, so you still need to be careful. In particular, there is not a great deal of padding on the bottom of the bag. Put it down gently; don't drop it!

Although the straps are fine for pottering around, I'm not sure that they would be comfortable enough for carrying a full bag for a long day out. If the straps do turn out to be uncomfortable, I guess I'll go back to keeping my camera wrapped up in a sweatshirt in an old rucksack and stuffing the lenses in the pockets!

5.0 out of 5 stars Practical and Safe camera bag, 29 July 2013
Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Kata 123-GO-20 Sling Backpack (Accessory)
This bag is the best that I have used, it is practical, suites my needs and is very light. This bag keeps my camera and lenses safe from accidental damage as there is a great amount of padding. Well worth the money. I would recommend this to any photographer after a good quality bag.

I Bought this bag as i had just aquired a new lens so my shoulder bag was no longer big enough for the job. I had previously owned a Kata bag and since owning other makes of bag i knew this brand stood out from the competition. The quality if superb with strong plastic clips, well made zips and a nice feel to straps etc.

The styling is also spot on, with just a hint of green accents here and there and the yellow inside the bag is both practical and pleasing on the eye. Even with cramming in fantastic functionality, Kata have still managed to produce a very nice looking bag.

The functionality of this bag is where is really wins against other similar bags, I have my Pentax K5, 35mm lens, 75-300 lens, chargers and a nikon s8000 compact stored in the main compartments with still room for a flash. The ingeneous design of this bag means that my K5 can be accessed from unzipping one side, my s8000 accessed from the other side or unzip the whole main compartment to get to everything. This still leaves the seperate top section for sandwiches etc and smaller side pouches for lens caps and the included waterproof cover. The straps can be arranged so the bag can be worn as a sling bag, backpack or just carried by hand.

All in all a great purchase made all the better by the unbeatable price i managed to get it for on Amazon.
Great quality, functionality and stylish coupled with fantastic value. Highly recommended

got it at a great price (50 euros)

I would recommend, well built, you can put a lot in there (camera, 2/3 objectives, and room for more various stuff), and the bag is still small enough

rain protection available in a small pocket

nice!
