I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who wants to get to grips with 'A View From The Bridge'.
Used this as revision for my English IGCSE... even though I knew the ins and outs of the book already. But this book did give me a few new ideas and is written with a general perspective of the play, rather than something your teacher has thought of.
It also has GREAT exam guidance at the end, explaining the grades and even giving you an idea of what to write as well!
As well as this, 'York Notes' gives the reader a reminder of the play, its scenes, what to focus on in the exam, it talks about the characters and their main scenes.

This revision guide gives a good breakdown of the play, splitting each act into sections so the reader can thoroughly learn the play.
There is a good breakdown of character, plot and themes. I would like to have seen some reference to the theme of "honour/respect". I liked the section on "sample answers" as well and how to boost your grade.

I bought this for my teenage brother a couple of weeks before his gsce exams last year and it was a total saviour. He was in a huge panic about the books he needed to know but this really helped him and have him confidence. Would definitely recommend for anyone in the same situation.

The notes aren't very thorough, but it helps you get an overview of the novel.

I read this through with my son, who is taking GCSE literature and found it very helpful indeed. All the characters are described with highlighted quotes and the main themes are explained. Essentail stuff.

The study guide doesn not only give me an in-depth understanding of the main elements ( characters, plot, themes), but also evoke my self-evaluation to the works. The images are lovely, yet make it easier to understand the play. I recommend using York Notes and Smooch if you want to score high in Lit exams !!!
