New for 2011 the official Clicgear GPS Holder is designed to install in the umbrella mount of your Clicgear cart and securely hold your GPS unit while on the course. Unlike other GPS holders, it mounts offset to the left side and can still be used with your standard Clicgear Umbrella holder or the Clicgear Umbrella Angle Adjust. The holder is specifically designed to fits all Model 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 Clicgear carts perfectly.

The Clicgear GPS holder, 2011 version, offers firm and secure hold of a GPS device while on the course and, unlike the earlier versions, still allows the use of the standard Clicgear umbrella holder or umbrella angle adjust. It fits all the Model 1.0, Model 2.0 and Model 3.0 carts. The mount comes with two complete installation hardware sets for two separate devices.

I purchased this after several other mounts failed to be either robust enough or have a big enough mount to fit my Clic-gear trolley. This does demand that fit a red plastic disc to the rear of the GPS unit, so may not be great if you have a GPS app. on your smart phone instead - you'll probably have to buy a clam shell type case to use with this that you can stick the disc onto.
However, if you have a dedicated Golf GPS device, then it is likely that you'll be OK with sticking it directly to the body of that as I did. It is great with my clic gear trolley - fairly unobtrusive compared with some clunky universal mounts that I've had and appears to be well made as all clic-gear items seem to be. You may want to turn the rubber mounts around to give a bit more grip on the device, but this takes moments to do.
However, if you have a dedicated Golf GPS device, then it is likely that you'll be OK with sticking it directly to the body of that as I did. Who will want to glue a big red knob to the phone to use it as a gps range finder on the course?? You have figure out a solution for yourself to make this work with a phone. Th item should be clearly marked that this is the case.

Very disappointed with this item. Firstly, when the GPS is inserted it becomes lop sided as the golf trolly moves, as the fitting is not tight enough. Moreover, having carefully fitted the disc to the back of my GPS, and left it for a week before use (they recommend at least 24 hours), it fell off half way down the first fareway as the adhesive is not strong enough, had I not spotted this happening, I could have lost �300 worth of GPS! I carefully cleaned the area with surgical spirit and heated the sticky with a hair dryer as this activates the adhesive so there should be no reason for it to fall off. I have experience of fitting items with 3M sticky, as I have a Mazda MX5 sports car and several pieces of crome surrounds have been fitted to the exterior using 3M sticky tape, and I have never had a problem. So afraid it isn't down to the fitter, but the inadequate level of glue on the disc. I currently have the GPS held on to the fitting with two x cable tie !!
Shame because all other clic gear equipment I have is first class.

I bought this to go with my Garmin G3. Didn't hold the G3 tight to the unit, so it moved around a lot. Had to buy the 'belt clip' for the Garmin. Now it fits snugly onto the unit.

Great fit on the Clicgear, but...
Holder fits perfectly on the Clicgear trolley, but my GPS is not held firmly by the rubber pads
