This is an easy to read, but extremely helpful book. I have no complaints about it, only compliments. The author treats the reader as an adult whilst appreciating that the reader may be new to poetry, she strikes the perfect balance in speaking to the reader. This should be a part of any poetry fan's book collection.

Fantastic first book of poetry by the late Ted Hughes, no complaints. It's an electic mix including nature poems and those that deal with emotion, such as "Two Phases" which I quoted in the title of this review.
This is what I did: I bought his first book, his last book, and the Collected Works. So the first, the last, and everything in between. I was not disappointed by this, or by Birthday Letters (his final publication), or by The Collected Works.
