Man In A Suitcase: Man From The Dead/Brainwash [DV&hellip DVD ~ Richard Bradford

You have this relatively unknown American actor named Richard Bradford, he's got the skill of Marlon Brando, the presence of James Dean, the physical danger of Steve McQueen and probably the luck of George Lazenby. What happened Richard? Why didn't you take your rightful place as a superstar? A previous reviewer was probably right when they said "perhaps he didn't want it"... anyway, I'd like to believe that this was the real reason. Perhaps the fact that he constantly upstaged stars like Brando, Redford, Jane Fonda, Nicholson and Connery in his cameo film roles had more to do with it.

Playing the hustling ex CIA agent McGill, our hero in 'Man in a Suitcase' has so much machismo to… Read more

That is the message displayed on the Salvation Army banners as Humanity slips into extinction. There are no explosions, no bodies, no physical horror or special effects whatsoever....and more importantly, no hope. The plot is well covered by other reviewers, so I'm giving nothing else away.

This B/W 1959 film by Stanley Kramer based on a novel by Nevil Shute (A Town Like Alice), will haunt you for the rest of your life. Not often repeated on afternoon TV, buy this DVD to show your children and grandchildren how really brave and talented film makers were, before they became a meaningless dross factory.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Unexpected Gem, 6 Dec 2004
I knew nothing about this film, I just bought it for the family because it had a Christmas theme. A few of the other better known Yule Tide films I purchased were complete turkeys - NOT THIS ONE!

It's a wonderful evocation of Christmas from a childs point of view. Also, it's American with no schmaltz, which is quite surprising. I guarantee everybody will love this film, trust me.

One of the funniest scenes I have every witnessed on film concerns the youngest son playing with his food. I laughed so loud it hurt and I giggled for a week.

Buy it, play it every year and add extra warmth to your festive celebrations.

MERRY CHRISTMAS.
