Sons of Anarchy - Season 1-3 [DVD]

I really like this series, because it isn't your regular Glee meets Housewives does Jersey Shore and creates CSI kind of thing. It is gritty, harsh and realistic. Even though it depicts the fictitious motorcycle gang Samcro, it is a eye opening study of gangs like the Hells Angels. How crime is a part of their double lives, as they cope with the walking the plank lifestyle they have chosen. The live it because they believe in the code. It is interesting to see how the discrimination of both gender and race is embedded into their infrastructure, even if not all members believe each rule is valid. Truly a commendable watch and worth an Emmy or ten.

In the town of Charming, california, the motorcycle gang Sons of Anarchy go about their daily business of illegal gun sales. The sheriff and townspeople conveniently look the other way since the bikers protect the town from other criminals. This of course takes some effort, and alliances and confrontations with other criminal enterprises, both blue and white collar are part of a days work. Adding to this is dealing with local corruption, acting as vi�gilantees and avoiding the federal authorities. Inside the gang personal problems and relationships between the members and their families play an important part. The plots and stories are good, exciting and interesting and the various characters be they bikers, local cops, feds or other biker gangs, meth dealers, white supremacists, chinese triads or the real ira! certainly stir things up. As for the actors, Katey Sagal is great as Gemma morrow and Ron Perlman is great as Clay Morrow, the club president. Charlie Hunnam and Kim Coates are equally superb in their roles as vice president and sgt. at arms.
As guest stars Ally Walker brings a stunning performance as a ruthless atf-agent and Adam Arkin as a white supremacist and fbi informant posing as a respectable businessman is worth every penny of this series. The Sons of Anarchy is one of the best series i have ever seen and i cant wait to get my hands on season 4 when its released - it wont be a moment to soon.

Same review as before. This is simply ace. Brutal at times but keeps you gripped. Best show ever. Highly recommend.

Brilliant series. Whole family is hooked on this programme. Lots of twists and turns. Great service, good price, will use again.

I purchased this box because I was branching out on shows and the price seemed right. Oh boy, what a great decision. This show sucked me in - like literally. Could not think about anything else for two days straight. I watched about one and a half seasons in those first two days. Freakin' bargin for that price. Thanks a lot amazon!

I would highly recommend SOA it's compulsive viewing .. Just gets better & better with each season. Great Value for 3 seasons.

Ordered s1-3 + s4. Watched all the episodes one after the other almost w.o. breaks.... Now waiting for s5 to be released November 25 or so.
As always, Amazon delivers well.
With all the extra material (including the commentaries) there is alot of entertainment to be had.

Finally, I get to see the missing series - the one which has not been shown/repeated on normal tv. It answered a lot of questions, but did go on a bit. Well put together with the usual suspects. Obviously, for fans, a must-see as it joins up the dots.

This is a great series. Story lines are gripping, characters believable.
Impossible just to watch one episode - make sure you've a couple of hours before you start to watch.
