This book contains the complete GCSE Core Science course, and gives you access to the interactive online edition.
In normal CGP style the explanations are very clear. In fact I wish we'd remembered this book earlier this week when my daughter was doing her homework, as the diagrams in this book were far easier to understand than the ones in her school text book.
The book covers the whole core science curriculum, but also contains tips, links to the learning objectives of the specification, as well as questions both for fact recall and of the exam type. It also has sections both giving advice on the controlled assessments/ISAs and the exams.
The interactive online material give you access to pretty much the same material, but also to videos and larger diagrams. The videos in particular can be very useful, for example an animation showing how heat and energy is passed along a metal bar when one end is heated. It is also a great way for young people today to revise. As someone who has taught core science in the past I also value how it makes clear when information is needed for the higher paper only, and how much detail you need to know (eg. for fractional distillation).
Its a great resource and one I'm very pleased to won.

I got this book for my daughter starting year 10. It is in a very accessible format with example exam questions on each topic and key facts to remember as we'll as the more detailed descriptions and explanations. There is also access to online resources via a code in the book, which we have not tried yet but promise more practice questions and interactive exercises. I will be keeping an eye out for other subject books.
