3.0 out of 5 stars Breaks easily
Blind worked great for first 3 nights then this morning when I took it off the window, the suction cup stayed on the window ripping the blind.

This is one of those products which is so simple yet effective you wonder why didn't anyone think of it sooner! Originally called Baa-Baa Blackout Blind, the Gro company (the geniuses who brought us baby sleeping bags) have bought the rights and made a few improvements too. The blind is supplied in it's own travel bag, and ready to use straight away as the suckers are already attached. Each side is adjustable to fit (using elasticated waistband thingys you sometimes get on kids trousers). You just press the suckers onto the glass, adjust the edges a bit and... instant darkness! (or pretty damn close) We took this on holiday with us and it worked a treat. Never again do we have to precariously hang blankets or towels over the window. Or endure kids waking up at 5am due to the light streaming in to their rooms! Not just for hols though, we use for sleepovers at granny's and now even at home. Worth every penny. If you want an easier bedtime, and an extra hour or two in bed in the morning (who doesn't?), buy one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Thank you Gro bag!, 18 July 2010

I have to admit I am a big fan of Blackout blinds. I know, it sounds sad, but when you love sleep as much as I do, they can be your best friend. My lovely daughter has had both a blackout blind and blackout linings on her bedroom curtains since she was born, and I'm convinced thay have contributed to her having a great sleep pattern. There has always been a problem however when we go away, or if she sleeps at her grand parents, where she will awake at some ungodly hour and then be very sad and grumpy by mid afternoon. After several years of draping duvets, towels, coats and more recently a flattened out cardboard box over various windows to little avail, I finally decided enough was enough. I hoped I had struck gold with the " Gro Anywhere Blind" , and thank goodness, it appears I have. I was already a fan of the wonderful Gro bags, and was therefore keen to try their blackout blind. So far it has been used at both sets of grandparents, in a caravan and at friends houses, on windows of varying shapes and sizes. It has been easy to fit and easy to repack. Yes some of the suckers have been mis-shapen after unpacking, but after following the instructions as to what to do about this ( included with the blind) I had no problem. Yes there are cracks of light that get through, but in all honesty, unless you were to fit chemical darkroom type blinds with tracks, I'm not really sure that anything will ever provide 100 per cent black out.Put it this way, this weekend we visited my Mother in Law. My daughter slept in her lovely darkened room until 8:30 am, whilst my husband and I were both awake by 5:00 am , light streaming through the bedroom window, and with no hope of getting back to sleep. We will be back to stay with mum in law again next month, and guess what I will be buying before then? Yes, a second Gro Anywhere Blind, so that my husband and I are not the ones who are sad and grumpy by mid afternoon! Well Done Gro Bag for a fantastic product, and Well Done Amazon for fast delivery and great service as usual.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny, 20 July 2009

I bought this after my 6 month old kept waking with the sunrise at 5am. It is easy to adjust to the correct size and sticks onto the window with plastic suckers. After tweaking the final fit I can get the blind to completely block out the light. It surprised me that it is more effective than the blackout roller blind we have in our own room. She's now sleeping through until 7am. The blind is easy to remove and transport and will be accompanying us on our holiday in a few weeks.

5.0 out of 5 stars blackout fantastic!!, 8 Aug 2010
Im a mum of 5 and have tried everything to keep the childrens bedroom dark!
This is great!!I use it in my sons bedroom as I have odd sized windows and this fits perfectly!!
It has suckers round the edge which you use to stick to window and adjustable elastic on all the edges to make it fit perfectly to your size window!
Would be great for constant use at home as i do or to take away with you on holiday!
Totally blocks out all sunlight, stops early rising and encourages little ones to go to bed in the summer evenings when it still light outside!
Best blind ive ever bought!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great gro product, 1 July 2009

Bought this to use full-time and it works like a charm. The blind is so big we actually attach the suction cups to the PVC. The fabric is a bit stiff and goes beyond the suction cups so it can be positioned to block all the light. The only downside might be the dark color heating up our room but we can't tell at the moment!

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy this..., 14 Feb 2010

We bought this blind after reading the reviews on Amazon and I'm sorry to say that I completely disagree. The basic problem is the suckers which are supposed to stick it to the window. The minute I first tried to put it up I could see that some of the suckers weren't going to work as they are made of very cheap plastic and the edges curl up so they aren't flat enough to stick onto the window. About half of them were like this so I did manage to get it to stay on the window at first. The problem however just gets worse with time as more and more of the suckers curl up at the edges. Now it doesn't stay up at all and I may have to resort to gaffer taping it to the window frame in order to keep the room dark. All in all you'd be better off just getting a sheet of blackout material and sticking it on with gaffer tape in the first place! Seriously this is not a good buy, I'm going to do a search now and see if we can find a better one to replace it...

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm not a baby but I love this blind, 21 July 2013
This review is from: Gro Anywhere Blackout Blind (New Version) (Baby Product)
A friend kindly bought this blind for me as a birthday gift as I have struggled getting to sleep with the extended light nights in the north. It's brilliant and I have slept soundly since. Very easy to use and to store. I would recommend this to any northerners, vampires or insomniacs.

3.0 out of 5 stars Word of warning!, 19 July 2013

Just used this in a holiday property to blackout my child's room, it worked a treat and stopped kids waking at 5am....but, window was south facing and I kept it up all day and in this 'category 3 heat wave' when I took the blind down the window had a large crack in it from the heat..this will set us back several hundred pounds. It works but if you have south facing windows take it down during the day!

2.0 out of 5 stars Great but a heat trap!!, 15 July 2013
Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Gro Anywhere Blackout Blind (New Version) (Baby Product)
The product is of good quality but they have made one epic fail in the design..? What Gro have managed to is create a room heater in using 'Black' - Black out material. This is fine on cloudy cold days, but now in the summer with a heat wave it's unbearable. We've had to switch rooms now as the front room was becoming impossible to keep cool. If you stand 3 feet away from the blind, when the sun is hitting it you can feel the heat coming off it.

I really don't understand why they haven't used white coloured Black out? We've had to abandon this blind. I've bought some white b/o material from Mothercare and making our own curtains. I'm sure if I sourced them I could copy the design.

I know it's intended as a travel solution, but you just can use it anywhere it's sunny unless you have air conditioning. Sorry Gro but this is one product only fit for the bin on hot days!!
