Lena is back. We bring you a portrait of the Eurovision Song Contest winner, and she explains why she'd rather devote herself to music than study at university. We'll also have videos by Die Toten Hosen, Udo Lindenberg and Seeed. Instead of our quiz we have a competition for you: If you tell us your favorites among the most successful German songs of all time, you could win an iPod.
Since her appearances at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2010 and 2011, not much has been heard from Lena Meyer-Landrut. Originally, Lena intended to go to university. But things worked out differently. Instead of doing homework, she preferred to write songs. At 21, she's matured musically. The result is her new album, "Stardust."
Udo Lindenberg´s latest single is the theme song to a road movie that's out on DVD at the end of October. The film follows the German rock legend Udo Lindenberg on his biggest tour ever this past March. Footage from the film is featured in the video to the melancholy single.
Fans of the Berlin dancehall reggae troupe Seeed have had to wait seven long years for a new album. Now it's here, and it skyrocketed right to the top of the German charts. The album's name is easy to remember: it's just called "Seeed." We feature the first single "Beautiful."
Die Toten Hosen are celebrating their 30th anniversary with a marathon tour. The fun-punkers from Düsseldorf have just come back from thrilling fans in Argentina. A tour of Germany is set to begin soon, and all 300,000 tickets have already been sold. In the meantime the band has managed to release a new single as well. Our clip showcases them as outlaws in the Wild West.
In our competition, PopXport presents the ten German songs that made it highest in the worldwide charts and finds out which is our viewers’ favourite. So if you want to take part, choose your favourite and let us know. We'll play the song that gets the most votes as a clip on the November 9, 2012 edition. And we'll have a prize drawing among all the participants: an iPod touch with 32 GB.
