1.0 out of 5 stars It's no longer the show it was. 4 Jun 2012
Format:DVD
Ok so when Charlie Sheen left Men and it was announced that Ashton Kutcher was coming in I was excited to see what direction it would take. After all I felt that the show was already becoming stale and it may be good to see a change in direction.

Unfortunetly the show is now stuck in a strange place, it's no longer the show that people enjoyed and nor is it a good stand alone show. So where does this leave it? Well thats a tough question to answer, i feel die hard fans will abandon it much like Scrubs fans did for it's "ninth" season, and unfortunetly the show doesnt have enough to bring in new fans. The whole premise of Alan sponging off of Waldon is disjointed, as is the idea of a billionaire living in that beach house, as is the fact that Herbs sister is now back playing Waldons wife, Alans mother now seem a wasted character who has no place being there, the fact Berta remains is odd, the fact Jake is increasing dumb is irksome, as is the fact that he is now in no way a "loveable" character, its all reminisant of a show that has no ideas and no vision for the show anymore and it's clear the creators have no intention of hiring any people who do. We no longer have "two and a half men" we are left with "three half men" none of characters stand alone, It is my opinion the Jake became dumb so to stay as the "half" man when he was no longer a child, this season shows all three "leads" as dumb and therefore "half men"

So then what should they have done? one school of thought would be to cancel the show when Sheen left and leave it as 8 good season of sitcom, however i dont feel this was ever going to happen as it would have been seen as the writers backing down and allowing Sheen the "win". Another option then would be to leave it as it was without Charlie, promote Cryer as the lead and Jones as his "sidekick headache". This is what i would have done, give Alan the house and cash from Charlies death, give Jake a small child to bring up, and the show could have been easily continued as "two and a half men" not the "three half men" we see in this poor season. If you have the first eight seasons i would advise you to stop with them and enjoy the show for what it was, not for what it has become.

1.0 out of 5 stars It's so bad 26 Jun 2012
By SonyX
Format:DVD
I've been a Two and a Half Men fan since the day it aired on Channel 5, having no Sky channels I got hooked on this show as decent TV was limited. Seasons 1-7 were amazing. Anyone with a brain could tell Charlie wasnt in his head properly in Season 8, his drug or alcohol use was clearly showing and the inevitable happened, he got fired. A sad day.

This new series is a total mess, Alan's become too much of a mooch, Jake's no longer loveable and he's far to dumb, no place for Evelyn or Rose and Berta has been given a glamorous hairstyle which takes away from her simple housekeeper attitude.
The show was supposed to revolve around three guys, not three couples! Alan and Lyndsey, Walden and Zoey and Jake and Eldridge.
The show has lost its Charlie Sheen charm. Ashton Kutcher's acting is pretty poor and the only person carrying this show is now Alan.

This show has stupid habit of hiring actors for various roles ie Chelsea appeared in two different roles on the show before she became Charlie's fiancé. Herbs sister is now playing Walden's ex? What!

The plot of each episode sucks, there's no half man anymore as all three of the characters can be classed as half men. Originally, Jake was obviously the half man but as the show progressed with new seasons, it was clear as Jake grew, Alan became the half man. However now there's no telling.

If I was Lorre, this is what I would have done, Judith tells Herb, Millie isn't his, Herb moves in with Alan(unaware its Alans kid) into Charlie's beach house and becomes a main character. Herb is a great, fun and a loveable character. Most importantly he's a billion times better at acting than whatever Kutcher is doing.
The most annoying thing I find about this season though is Zoey and her kid, they're so annoying. Every time one of them opens their mouth, argh!

This is not Two and a Half Men, it's a disgrace. It should have been cancelled with dignity or Lorre made up with Charlie. Sadly the greed for money by Lorre has ruined a great show.

Two years ago, Two and a Half Men was the best show on TV, it was new and fresh but not anymore. I recommend you don't watch after season 8 but rather you watch the brilliant How I Met Your Mother, which isn't ruined by the overuse of really annoying and stupid loud laugh tracks every 6 seconds like Lorre's shows (The Big Bang Theory, Mike and Molly and Two and a Half Men in the later seasons). The only reason I watch it now is I want to see how Alan's storyline plays with Milly, Judith and Herb, which Season 9 totally neglected.

Worst Season Ever (Comic Book Guys voice from The Simpsons).........so far. Season 10 should be the last and it should not be renewed for a 11th, 11 seasons is pushing it a bit too far anyway. I wonder what the UK ratings were, Comedy Central seemed to stop publishing them, I wonder if it's because they dropped quite below 1 million.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing comedy!Great dialogues! 2 Oct 2012
Format:DVD
I instantly fell in love with the ninth season.I feel sorry for the negative reviewers.STOP whining, people! There are a lot more things to do with your lives apart from watching TV after all. There's a whole new generation that's gonna love the evolved version of this family comedy.Nobody needs your annoyingly negative comments.
