Frequently Asked Questions

What's Amazon.co.uk's returns policy?

You can find full details of our returns policies here. For the Kindle returns policies please see the Kindle Returns Policies page and for the Kindle Terms of Use please see the Kindle License Agreement and Terms of Use page.

How do I return an item delivered by Amazon.co.uk?

Visit our Online Returns Centre to get a mailing label to return your item. We'll pay the cost of return delivery if your return is due to an Amazon.co.uk error. Otherwise, we'll deduct the cost of return delivery from the amount of your refund. For your protection, we recommend that you use a recorded-delivery service if the value of the return is more than 50 GBP.

Please note that you will be responsible for the costs of returning the items to us unless we delivered the item to you in error, or if the item is damaged or defective. If we do not receive the item back from you with the delivery slip, we may arrange for collection of the item from your residence at your cost.

How can I return something bought from a third-party seller?

Items purchased from Amazon.co.uk Marketplace sellers need to be returned directly to the seller and not to Amazon.co.uk. To ensure the safe return of the merchandise, items valued over GBP 50.00 should be returned to the Seller using a trackable delivery service. If the order is valued at GBP 100.00 or more, we recommend you insure your return for the value of the product and use a signature required delivery service.

If your item was Fulfilled by Amazon, Visit our Online Returns Centre to get a return mailing label and return mailing authorisation

If you receive an item that's different to what was described, or that's clearly in worse condition than indicated, please contact your seller to report the defect or damage within 14 days of receiving the order.

To learn more about returning items to a Marketplace Seller please see our Arranging Marketplace Returns and Refunds Help Page.

I've returned my item. When will I get a refund?

If you select the option to receive an instant refund, then the amount of the refund will be credited instantly to your Amazon.co.uk Gift Certificate balance for use on your next order.

If you are returning the item for a refund to your original payment method, you'll receive your refund 2 to 3 business days after your return is received by Amazon.co.uk. Please note, this does not include your bank's processing time. We recommend that you visit our Online Returns Centre to get a pre-paid delivery label to return your item, which will help us process your return more quickly.
