Berghaus Backpack - Black, 25 lt,

Brilliant Product. Purchased this for my trip in Saudi Arabia. The backpack has plenty of storage and pockets to put your items in. Also the adjustable straps are ideal. The main thing which impressed me was how waterproof this bag is. I got stuck in the middle of a rain storm, where I was worried about my passport, papers etc. getting wet in the backpack. When returning to the hotel, I was shocked to discover that the bag was completely dry inside, considering how wet it was on the outside! And I forgot to mention the bag is VERY strong, I had approx 20kg at one point, and the backpack did not fault once.

I was looking for a bag for college and this one has turned out to be perfect. Plenty of room for my folders, books and laptop. Comfortable straps. Highly recommend this high quality bag.

I have worn the 25L 24/7 on many occasions and it has always proved comfortable. It is hydration bladder compatible and has some good storage inside. My only gripe would be the poor fixing points for poles, these needed modifying to make them useful. Overall a good well build, comfortable day sack.

I brought this bag as a replacement for my old Berghaus Backpack 30lt which the zip broke on it.I was carrying too much in it, the zip opened, streatched and eventually destroyed it. My fault I suppose. These bags are very comfortable on your back. I have walked up Snowdon with no problems. I use it every day in work and take it most places on days out. You could even use it for mountain biking, but it would get sweaty on your back. They dont stand upright, they always slide flat on the floor which does annoy me. Overall a very good bag, just be careful with the zip. They have 2 zipps which I tend to pull open and not use properly. Thats what caused the first one to brake on me. It wasn't the bad, It was me being rough with it. Get one !!!!!!!!!!

Good Quality Bag with awkward bottle holders,

I got this bag for taking to the gym and on day hikes etc. It is roomy, sturdy, and comfortable, with lots of useful compartments.I do however have one large gripe about it: the water bottle holders are next to useless. They are too tight, and cut too low on one side, with the result that if you have a typical 500ml bottle in them it might fall out of its own accord when you are walking. They bottles always fall out when you take the bag off, unless you take them out whilst the bag is still on your back. I find this rather irritating, and it the one thing that will put me off buying another bag of this type as a replacement.

strong, light and good-looking,

I am sure there are daysacks/backpacks as good as this, but I couldn't find any as cheap. It's easy to wear, and perfect for holidays - cabin-baggage sized, and handy once you're there to bring masks and towels to the beach or load up the junk you buy in a city expedition. The title of this review says everything that matters about this excellent product.

This bag is great for my needs. My 14.5 inch laptop fits in in its neoprene case and there is plenty of room left for all the other things I need from a day pack going to and from College. It is designed so that the weight is well distributed across the back and does not pull backwards and put strain on the shoulders. Note that there is no waist strap on this bag.

Odd shape, uncomfortable,

I use this for commuting and occasionally for picking up groceries on the way back from work. I find that the shape of the bag is a bit limiting as it tapers towards the top. Can't complain at all about the volume as it clearly says 25 litres (although I have no way of measuring whether it actually has that much space inside). It just about takes what I need for work, i.e. a change of clothes and my lunch, but I'll go for 45 litres next time I buy a backpack. This is really uncomfortable compared to the old Etnies backpack that this was supposed to replace. This one has less padding and the shape of it just makes it sit awkward on my back and my shoulders - as a result it makes my lower back and shoulders hurt when carried for longer than half an hour.

I bought this backpack for a walking weekend in the Lake District and it was perfect. Plenty of space to carry my DSLR camera gear as well as wet-weather clothing and the all important sandwiches, plus two 500ml water bottles in the two mesh outside pockets. I even used the "ski-pole" clips on the outside of the pack to attach my camera tripod. The little zip pocket on the outside is deceivingly large - it goes right across the front of the pack. Inside, the pockets are handy in size and there's a useful clip to attach keys (or a torch). Zips are of good quality and in the right places!

A well made and strong bag as you would expect from Berghaus. One of the few small rucksacs available which has zip pockets on the outside rather than mesh bottle holders only
