Few interiors are as fanciful as this seafood restaurant near Union Square. The ceiling near the oyster bar is hung with chandeliers that look like jellyfish; a white plastered nook of a room feels like the interior of a nautilus shell; and a painted mosaic dome that formerly capped the Elks Club pool sits over the main dining room. Chefs Mark Franz and Ryan Simas offer a menu with two categories of smaller courses, so you can mix and match. Large plates might include seared branzino with pasta; hearts of palm and a wild mushroom consomme; or warm lobster with cauliflower mousse and sweetbread hash. Don't pass up the desserts crafted by Emily Luchetti and Terri Wu.
Specialties: Iced seafood platters; tuna tartare with pepper creme fraiche and Asian pears; any dessert.
Dinner 5:30-9:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, until 10 p.m. Friday-Saturday.
