How do I order a gift certificate?

1. Go to our gift certificate page.
 
2. Click the Jetzt bestellen button for the type of gift certificate you want to purchase:

• E-Mail-Geschenkgutschein (e-mail a gift certificate)
 
• Gutschein zum Ausdrucken (Print at Home)
 
• Brief-Geschenkgutschein (Send a gift certificate by  mail)
  

3. Enter the desired gift certificate amount, a personalized message and delivery  information if requested. Note about multiple gift certificate orders: You can create up to 400 different gift certificates at a time by clicking the Weiteren Gutschein erstellen button. For further information on ordering a large number of gift certificates at once please click here.
   
 
4. You will find a summary of your gift certificate orders in the Box Geschenkgutscheine bestellen. Click the Zur Kasse button when you are finished creating your gift certificate(s).

   

    

5. Sign in with your Amazon.de account e-mail address and password.
 
6. Provide payment information for your purchase and click the Weiter button. Note about payment method selected: Remember the payment method you used for your order. If you need to print a "Print at home" gift certificate or resend an e-mail gift certificate, you'll be asked to verify the payment method used for the original purchase.
 
7. Review your order and click the Bestellung abschicken button to complete your purchase.

We'll send you an e-mail confirmation once you have placed your order.

When will the gift certificate arrive?
 

• E-Mail Geschenkgutscheine (E-mail gift certificates): Generally arrive within 15 minutes after the order was submitted.
 
• Gutscheine zum Ausdrucken (Print at Home): You can print your Amazon.de gift certificate from the order summary in Mein Konto ("Your Account"). We'll display the print button Gutschein(e) drucken when your gift certificate is ready. Printable gift certificates are available to print shortly after we process your payment. On rare occasions, it could take up to 15 minutes before your gift certificate is ready to print.
 
• Brief-Geschenkgutscheine (Paper gift certificates): Usually will be delivered by mail within 1 to 3 business days after your order was submitted.

Can I choose from custom or seasonal designs?

How long can I use my gift certificate?

All gift certificates are valid until the end of the 3rd year after the purchase. The expiry date will be stated at your gift certificate.

How do I print a gift certificate at home?

When you  choose the "Gutschein zum Ausdrucken" (Print at Home) option for your  Amazon.de gift certificate, we create a PDF gift certificate specific to your order that you can access and print from the Order Summary in Mein Konto.

You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer to open and print PDF files. Please note that we only accept Credit Card and Direct Debit as a payment method.

To view your gift certificate Order Summary in Your Account:
Select one of the three ways listed below to access your gift certificate Order Summary where the print button Gutschein(e) drucken appears.

• Thank You screen: A link to "Bestellung ansehen und Gutschein(e) drucken appears on the order confirmation screen. 
  
• Gift certificate Ready e-mail: When your gift certificate is available for printing, we'll send you an e-mail to let you know it is ready. The e-mail  contains a URL that goes directly to the gift certificate Order Summary in Mein Konto (Your Account).
• Mein Konto (Your Account): You can navigate to the Order Summary by visiting Mein Konto clicking the LOS button next to "Offene und kürzlich versandte Bestellungen" and clicking on the Bestellung ansehen button on the gift certificate order.

To print your gift certificate: 

1. Visit the order Summary in Mein Konto.
 
2. On the gift certificate Order Summary, click the Gutschein(e) drucken button. If the button isn't available, your gift certificate is still processing. If you wait a few minutes and refresh the page, the button should appear.
 
3. Verify the payment method used for the purchase. You will not be charged again for the purchase, but the payment method verification is a required security step before printing your gift certificate.
 
4. Click the Gutschein(e) drucken button on the gift certificate screen. Your gift certificate will download, open, and print in Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Note on Payment Verification: When you enter a payment method at the time of order, the name and card number you enter should exactly match the  information on the card you are using, including spaces and periods for initials. Then, when you are asked to verify the payment method used for the printable gift certificate, the name and card number must exactly match the  information you entered at the time of purchase (which should also exactly match the information on the physical card). If you enter variations of the name anywhere during the process, you may encounter problems verifying your  payment and printing your gift certificate. If you are uncertain about how the name appears, you can view the cardholder name as you entered it by clicking on the "Bankeinzug oder Kreditkarte löschen" in the Payment Settings section ("Zahlungseinstellungen") of Mein Konto.

You can  print your gift certificate as many times as needed, but the code it contains can only be redeemed once. When the gift certificate has been redeemed to an Amazon.de account, the Gutschein(e) drucken button will no longer be available in the Order Summary.

Can I order a large number of gift certificates at once?

• To send multiple gift cards in the same amount to the same address (e-mail or physical address), change the "Anzahl" (Quantity field) on the order form.
• To send gift cards in varying amounts, or with different designs, messages, or "an" and "von" ("to" and "from") information, fill out the order form and click "Zur Bestellung hinzufügen" ("Add to order") for each different gift card you'd like to buy.
• To send identical e-mail gift cards in the same amount to multiple e-mail addresses, choose the "An weitere Personen schicken" ("Send to more people") link on the order form and enter the e-mail addresses into the space provided (separated by commas or semicolons, or with each address on a new line).

If you are a company you can order corporate gift certificates. The minimum spend requirement for each corporate order is 5.000 EUR.  More information on corporate gift certificates

Help! The Amazon.de gift certificate I ordered didn't arrive.

If you purchased a gift card that was sent via mail or e-mail and it doesn't arrive, you can follow the instructions below for resending your gift card. Some e-mail providers give users the option of blocking all e-mail messages that originate outside of their domain. You may want to check with your recipient first to make sure their e-mail is configured to accept e-mails from Amazon.de. We also recommend checking the spelling of the e-mail-address. You can resend any unredeemed gift certificate.

To resend a gift card you purchased:

1. Go to Mein Konto (Your Account).
2. Sign in using the e-mail address and password associated with your Amazon.de account.
3. Click "Erneut versenden" (resend) on the Order Summary of your gift certificate order.
4. Review the information regarding the gift card to be resend and follow the instructions on the page.

How do I use my gift certificate?

First, locate your 14-digit claim code on the gift certificate you received.

If you're not ready to make a purchase: You can redeem and credit the gift certificate to your account. 

1. Go to Mein Konto .
 
2. Click Geschenkgutschein-Guthaben prüfen und Geschenkgutscheine einlösen .
   
 
3. Sign in with your e-mail address and password.
 
4. Enter your claim code and click Weiter. Your funds will automatically be applied to your next order.

If you're placing an order through the Shopping Cart: Enter the claim code on the order form on the last page Fertig and click Einlösen:
      

    If you want to use more than one claim code: Enter the first claim code and click Einlösen. Enter the next claim code  and click Einlösen. Continue the same way with further claim codes.
    If you're placing an order with 1-Click: Click the "Bestellung  ansehen oder ändern" button that you will see after clicking the "Jetzt  mit 1-Click kaufen" button:  

       
Then, enter the claim code in the Payment section ("Zahlungsdaten") on the next page and click Einlösen.

I accidentally deleted my gift certificate. What can I do?

Please contact us with the following information: 

• order number (if possible) 
  
• email address (used by the giver when ordering the gift certificate) 
  
• e-mail address to which the gift certificate was sent

In case you do not have sufficient information or we can not find the gift certificate order in our system we will ask you to  contact the giver directly.

I'm having trouble using my gift certificate. What's happening?

When the claim code is not accepted there could be several reasons:

The most common reason is a simple typing error when entering the claim code. We recommend to copy and paste the claim code into the appropriate field as this is most simple and safe.

Your gift certificate might have expired. Please review the expiry date stated on your gift certificate.

Maybe your gift certificate was issued by another Amazon Site e.g. Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.fr, Amazon.ca, Amazon.co.jp or Amazon.cn. In this case you can not use your gift certificate at Amazon.de but only at the website the gift certificate was issued for.

Are you receiving an error message that says the gift certificate has already been redeemed? Once you've entered the claim code on our site, we'll keep the balance in your account for use on future purchases, and you don't need to enter the claim code again. To confirm that the funds are already on your account, check your current gift certificate balance through Your Account. If the funds don't show up there, you might have more than one Amazon.de account; please contact us.

If none of these reasons applies to your gift certificate, please check whether you comply with the terms & conditions for redeeming gift certificates.

What happens to the rest of my gift certificate if I don't use it all at once?

Once you've entered the claim code on our site, we'll keep the balance in your account for use on future purchases, so you don't need to enter the claim code again when you place your next order. Please be aware that the original expiration date applies to any unused funds.

When you place your next order, you should see the gift certificate funds reflected in the cost summary.  If the funds don't show up there and your gift certificate hasn't expired, you might have more than one Amazon.com account. Please contact us.

What happens to the delivery costs when I redeem a gift certificate?

Redeeming a gift certificate does not have an  influence on shipping costs. If delivery is free it will stay free even if you're using a gift certificate. In return, should you need to pay a delivery fee your gift certificate funds can be applied as well.

Can I still use my gift certificate after I returned the order?

If you return an order that was paid by a gift certificate we will add that amount to your account and keep the funds for you until you place your next order. Any available gift certificate balance can be viewed at Mein Konto.

When you place your next order you can see the gift certificate funds being deducted at the last page "Fertig" of the order form. (Please use the shopping card method and not the 1-click option to place your order.)

As the claim code has been saved at your account already you do not need to enter it again. Please be aware of the expiry date of your gift certificate.

Can I use my gift certificate for orders at Amazon.de Marketplace or with other sellers?

Gift certificates can be used for orders at Amazon.de Marketplace, at Amazon.de Warehouse Deals or with other sellers.

Can I use my gift certificate for an order I already placed?

It is possible to apply a gift certificate to an open  order after you've placed it as long as the shipping process has not been  started. 

1. Click the "Mein Konto" button at the top of any page on our website.
 
2. Click "Los" next to "Offene und kürzlich versandte Bestellungen" and log into your account.
 
3. If the order is displayed as "Noch nicht versandte Artikel", click the "Bestellung ansehen oder ändern" button.
 
4. Under "Zahlungsdaten" you will see a space to enter your claim code next to "Möchten Sie einen Geschenkgutschein einlösen?". When you've typed in the code, click "Einlösen".
