About the author
Dame Jacqueline Wilson, DBE, FRSL (born 17 December 1945) is an English writer of children's literature. Because her novels commonly deal with themes as adoption, divorce and mental illness, her work has been called controversial because her readers are young. For her lifetime contribution as a children's writer, Wilson was a UK nominee for the international Hans Christian Andersen Award in 2014.
Wilson is the author of many book series. Her Tracy Beaker series, inaugurated in 1991 with The Story of Tracy Beaker, includes three sequels and has been adapted into four CBBC television series: The Story of Tracy Beaker, Tracy Beaker Returns, The Dumping Ground and The Tracy Beaker Files. In February 2016 will mark the 25th anniversary of Trace Beaker, Wilson will also release a book called The Story Of Tracy Beaker: 25th anniversary.

From now till the end there will be many spoliers so watch out!
So it all starts with Ellie going to Mcdonalds with her friends Nadine (the gothic one) and Magda (the friend who attracts boys). There in Mcdonalds and Ellie sees someone SKETCHING her! After a few mins he comes over to talk to her and they start talking saying there names and he was called Russell then more talking blah blah blah. Later they say they need to go home and he says " I'LL COME WITH YOU!!!!" So off they go then Magda goes then Nadine leaves.
It was just them.
Russell suggest they go to the park. They do. They kiss a lot.
Ellie gets back homed and her dad is so mad!!!! D:
;-;
She is grounded for "the foreseable future"
okay now we going to move on to the end bit...!!!!
Ellie goes out with her friends to see a singer who then cancels because of her new boyfriend who doesn't want her to do it so she stops her career entierly! But then Nadine sees boys who say there a band. Nadine is obsessed with the gothic boy who says he is lead guitarist so they say hop in the van-...
What do they do next? Will they go in the van? Find out if you buy it. It is an amazing book! Real page turner I say 11+
AMAZING BOOK!!!!!!!!
and i dont know why shes still trying to give Liam a second chance ( More on liam later) Russell : RUSSELL dont get me started on him :/ well ill use these words to describe him, Russell is horrible, rude, controlling, crazy, annoying , stupid and a user Liam: HES A CREEP… ANYWAY thanks for spending the time to read my review ^^ - Holly - 10 years old.
The Good:i
I absoloutly adored the friendship between the girls in the story, they were there for eachother and as with many of Jacqueline's books the friendship paid off.
I liked that Ellie (our main character) chose her loyal friends instead of smarmy boyfriend Russle (more on HIM later) it showed us girls that friends are indefinitely more valuable.
Jacky touched upon many delicate subjects like teacher crushes and identifying sketchy teens from nice ones. She carefully wove these topics into the novel without seeming as if she was preaching the reader but gently letting us come to our own conclusions.
The Bad:
I wasnt much keen on Jacky's portrayal of "dad" in the and was confused at his behaviours so I found it hard to like his character. Though perhaps that was intentional?
Sometimes Nadine acted strangly in the story (seriously when is it EVER a good idea to go off in some sketchy man's van??) so I found myself wishing she was a bit less.....impulsive?
One of Ellie's best friends Maggie was crushing on their art teacher (people who have read love lessons familiar much??) and I thought it far-fetched that Maggie would actually pursue him after school hours.
The whole creepy strangers in the band thing was.... well written and excitingly scary but a little disturbing for a nine+ book. The heart racing moments during those scenes were priceless but the concept was, well, exagerrated in my opinion.
The Ugly:
The one ugly thing in this book was CREEPO Russel, literaly as I read about Ellie and Russel's weird relationship I thought in my head 'Ellie you deserve someone far better'. I could do a total RANT about stupid, needy, shallow, self-confident, arrogant, dumb, using, irratating, desperate, superficial, cynical, awkward, careless Russel. He is pretty much using Ellie as an accessory infront of his "mates" with no respect for her at all. I know that this is a fictional character but I still feel angry on Ellie's part.
Good Story, Bad Parent, Ugly Teen Romance
