this book gets right inside trhe head of a 12-year-old girl, making her troubles seem more comforted. When i was reading this book i seriously couldn't put it down! i read it within 3 hours and i wish it hadnt gone so quickly, i wish i could have just read it all my life! Ellies troubles with Russell make yourself feel secure and safe, knowing Ellie is right by you. Ellies friends, Magda and Nadine show what good friends can really be like (even though they didn't show it at first) and give you a real sense that you are her friend too. You feel like you are always by her side and you can see Magda's and Nadine's point of view as well as Ellies. I was starting to believe she was a real person and coming into my life! Whenever i'm feeling sad now, i think of Ellie, and what she would do and it puts a great smile across MY face!! Truly a wonderful follow-up to Girls under pressure, girls out late and girls in love!

This book is an amazing book full of different feelings in different parts of the story, for example happiness, sadness, intelligence and freaky...Jaqueline Wilson is my favourite writer because some of her stories are happy some sad and some a mixture. My favourite passage is when Ellie is saved by Dan, they are all at a party, and these drunk guys come in and the biggest one grabs hold of Ellie because she is sitting down and starts talking to her saying 'now you want to dance dont you'but Dan loves Ellie and keeps telling him to get of her girl friend, but the big one says to one of the other to deal with Dan so he punches him but Dan is holding red squash so as the boy punched him he threw the red squash at himself and it looked like her had been stabed!!! That made them run away...

Girls in Tears is the fourth (and hopefully not final) installment of Jacqueline Wilson's 'Girls' series and again focuses its attention on the lives, loves and laughs of best-pal trio, Ellie, Magda and Nadine.
In this latest installment, things are not going very swimmingly for our favourite lasses. Ellie's boyfriend Russell is being a pain in the behind, Nadine is acting like a careless air-head, Magda is upset over the death of her hamster, and Ellie's dad and step mum are at logger heads. While the book of course includes all the usual elements from previous 'Girls' installments (worries about looks, popularity, being cool, keeping your friends etc) all the major themes seem to come to a head in this latest one and it is to dramatic affect. You find out more about Ellie's problems at home, the real extent of her relationship with Russell and, yes, you even find out the real extent of her friendship with Nadine and Magda. This book is notable for being the first time the trio has a major falling out, and this makes for refreshing if not uncomfortable reading. I for one always found the trio's 'all for one and one for all' fondling to be a little bit far fetched throughout the series, having been a fourteen year old girl myself and knowing first hand how often young ladies - even self proclaimed 'bezzie mates' - bicker, argue and 'break friends'. The girls truly fall out in spectacular style for a number of reasons which I won't give away, but let's just say that Nadine is acting even more crazy, bitchy and angsty than usual, and Magda's boy-hungry antics finally get the better of her, to the cost of one of her best friends...
This is an eye opening fourth installment and does not disappoint. Read more ›

Girls in love is the sequel from Girls Under Pressure.When Nadine is stuck in the toilet listening to all those girls saying all those horrible things about Liam u just fell so sorry for her and when Ellie opens her big mouth and says "oh, don't worry i've got a boyfriend" u think why did u say that u stupid girl.Athough exciting very sorrowful.

This is the best book I have ever read. It is about two best friends called Ellie and Nadine who have been best friends since they were little, and they always stick together. But when one of them gets a boyfriend their friendship goes horribly wrong. I think this book should be recomended to girls aged 11-16. It is really funny and I think if you buy it you will definately enjoy it.

This is a typical Jacqueline Wilson book. Fast moving and easy to read. Once you start you won't want to stop. Jacqueline's style of writing in the first person allows difficult and personal issues to be tackled in an unembarrasing way. Personally I feel that dispite the young looking packaging this is a book for at least 11+. Another best seller I'm sure!

If you've been waiting like me for the 4th book of the Girls serious than you'll be pleased with this. The book lives up to your expetations and has more tears and laughs than the others. It has the "only one more page" book where by the end you've read about ten. You are left on the edge of your seats! Elle, Magda and Nadine, are hitting the age where boys and now Internet are the best things, but they get in the way of the three girls friendship and they become to argue. Elle's relationship with her boyfriend hits the rocks, and with other trouble amoungst the situation on people lying about who they are on the internet, it makes the story become real and alive and makes you think about what your doing and that this could happen too you.
If your over 13 than this is the book for you, if boys and the net are part of your everyday life than this is the book for you. And if you just want a story which will keep your reading on and to have a good laugh and cry then Girls in tears is for you.
