4.0 out of 5 stars What You Should Know Before You Buy!, May 9, 2011
By
This review is from: Transformers: The Complete Series (DVD)
Transformers: The Complete Series is a new 15-DVD collection featuring all 98 remastered original Transformers episodes (and respective special features) from the following:

Transformers: The Complete First Season (25th Anniversary Edition)
Transformers: Season Two, Volume One (25th Anniversary Edition)
Transformers: Season Two, Volume Two (25th Anniversary Edition)
Transformers: Seasons Three & Four (25th Anniversary Edition)

Touted as an "unlimited" general retail release to replace the limited Transformers: The Complete Series (25th Anniversary Matrix of Leadership Edition), this 15-disc Collectors Set (housed in a new shiny outer case) is recommended to fans who don't own any of the previous season set releases and don't care about the exclusive bonus material from the Matrix of Leadership Edition as this set no more, no less contains only the disc content from the separate season releases. None of the exclusive extras from the Matrix of Leadership set (nor The Movie or Japanese series) are included. To fans that already own the separate season sets, just know that aside from the new shiny outer case (which you can purchase by itself online at Shout! Factory Store, transforming your sets into one identical to this box set, according to the studio) all of the disc content are the same as the previous releases before you decide.

Special Features include:
Episodes restored to the original broadcast versions with a new stereo soundtrack created from the original audio.

Featurettes: "Triplechanger: From Toy to Comic to Screen - The Origin of the Transformers", "The Combiner: Forming the Animated Series", "The Autobots, The Decepticons & The Fans".

5.0 out of 5 stars Whole series in one shot... and for a decent price., May 21, 2011

The whole series in a package deal... as opposed to selling you the seasons individually. So what if it's not on Blu-Ray? One, Just how would that improve the visual quality of an OLD cartoon? Two, is there a Blu-Ray player that doesn't play DVDs?

The stupid added Rhino sound effects are gone. That alone sells me on the set.

1.0 out of 5 stars Only DVD in this day and age?, May 12, 2011

Everything about this collection is outstanding, except for one problem: Where is the Blu-Ray? Blu-Ray has been around for years now, with movies as low as $10, HD TVs have been around for years too. Its not like I'm requesting it to be in 3D. This is very similar to the Lord of the Rings Blu-Ray not including the extended editions.
