Family visits

The Library has loads of fun things to do that are suitable for the whole family – and most of them are free.

You can see Ned Kelly's armour or a medieval manuscript in our permanent exhibitions, join in school holiday activities, attend a free guided tour, watch a film, listen to music or sit in on storytime.

Ned's armour will be on display at the National Museum of Australia until Sunday 31 July. The armour will be back on display at the Library from August.

We also have chess, a range of games consoles and a Play Pod for younger children to enjoy. In the Play Pod you can make and decorate a Ned Kelly helmet, pick from a huge selection of children's stories, and enjoy our interactive 'Elicit' display. Or, you can use computers to explore our recommended websites for children, edit your pictures, or just surf the internet.
