Volunteer at the Library

Looking for a new challenge? Want to learn new skills or give back to the community? Why not volunteer at the Library!

We value our volunteers highly – the time and talent they contribute is vital to our work. For volunteers, it's a great way to develop new skills and learn more about one of Victoria's leading cultural centres. Whether you're a student, retiree, parent or businessperson, we'd love you to volunteer with us.

Projects can be short or long term, and we provide training. Volunteering opportunities include:

  • repackaging special collection items
  • leading public tours of the building and exhibitions
  • helping with indexing projects
  • providing administrative support and data entry
  • presenting children's tours, activities and storytelling
  • assisting with digital media activities
