Owl pillows that hoot all year round

Whether you're mad for pumpkins and candy corn or loathe any palette reminiscent of the trick-or-treat season, we know of at least one accessory that can last well beyond this costume-y holiday: the owl pillow.

Each of these bygone, graphic motifs conveys mellow yet moody married with nature meets pop decor. We liken the archetypal mod owl silhouettes to small-scale portraits, perfect for an artful exhibit on the couch or corner armchair.

Reproduced from an ink drawing, the Owl Pillow channels vintage eras. Don Carney, co-founder of the fashion and home accessory label Patch NYC, designed the black-piped pillow. It measures 16 by 16 inches and is crafted from French cotton burlap and was plumped up with 95 percent feathers and 5 percent down cluster. It costs $120.

Nor can we resist the playful, peculiar expression of the Grey Owl Pillow from Urban Outfitters. The print was plucked from the archive of mid-century designer David Weidman. Made from white cotton and poly fil, the pillow measures 17 by 17 inches. It costs $38.

No matter which goodie you choose, these comfortable, curious creature pillows will turn heads.
