Retirees and snowbirds are still the largest contingent moving to Mexico, but more and more young couples, some with school-age kids, have happily and successfully relocated.
Mexican law restricts foreigners from owning property within 30 miles of the coast, but you can now establish a real estate trust under which the bank technically owns the title but you have all the legal rights of ownership, including to improve, sell or will the property.
