CA GOP chair loses bid to become RNC treasurer

California Republican Party chair Ron Nehring was defeated today in his bid to become the next treasurer of the Republican National Committee.

The RNC vote awarded the post to Tony Parker by a more than 2-1 vote in a runoff that just concluded with the final tally at 112-52.

The National Journal Hotline reported that Nehring gave it his best shot, noting that "the chairman of the California state GOP is plying voters with wine from the Golden State and Ghirardelli chocolates. Ghirardelli makes their product in San Francisco."
