Patrick Marleau
The Sharks' forward became the third-youngest player in NHL history to play 1,000 games, at 31 years, 124 days. Marleau is the first player to wear teal in quadruple-digit games and holds a number of team records, including career goals (338 after scoring his 18th of the season Monday) and points (727). If not for a work stoppage in 2004-05, he probably would have been the youngest player to reach 1,000 games, assuming he had stayed healthy - which he generally has, missing only 31 games over 13 seasons since being drafted No. 2 overall by San Jose in 1997. Davis Love III
He didn't have much success against Jose Maria Olazabal as a player in the Ryder Cup. Now he gets to take on the Spaniard as a captain. Love is expected to be named U.S. captain Thursday at Medinah, the Chicago-area site of the 2012 matches. You can expect a low-key approach from Love, who played on six Cup teams - two winners - had a career Cup record of 9-12-5, and was 1-4 against Olazabal in team matches. "We cared too much," DLIII said of the U.S. team's loss in October at Celtic Manor. "How do we figure out how to treat it like another tournament and ... just play golf?"
