An El Cerrito man is in custody in connection with Thursday afternoon's broad daylight slaying of a man inside a Tenderloin coffee shop.

San Francisco police arrested Jodie Daniels, 29, Friday afternoon at a private residence in the city, police said in a statement released Tuesday. Daniels was booked on charges of homicide, being a felon in possession of a firearm and a parole violation.

At about 4:20 p.m. Thursday, 29-year-old Terry Turner of San Francisco was chased into the Jebena Coffee and Tea Co. at 990 Polk St. Police said the gunman cornered Turner inside the shop and shot him numerous times in the head and chest. Turner died at the scene.
