Counting down to 10 billion apps

The health of CEO Steve Jobs notwithstanding, Apple is marching on: It is nearing 10 billion apps downloaded for the iPod touch, iPhone and iPad.

The ticker at the iTunes store had reached 9,883,451,282 as of Monday night. It's encouraging users to download apps -- as many as 25 a day -- with the person who downloads the 10 billionth app winning a $10,000 gift card.
