Zagat repeatedly ranks Gary Danko as the most popular restaurant in the Bay Area. That's quite a resounding endorsement, considering that it's among the most expensive. However, once you're ensconced in the sleek room, pampered by the professional service and partaking in Gary Danko's fixed-price menu, it seems like a bargain. Diners create their own tasting menu, ranging from three to five courses. Everyone's encouraged to mix and match; if you want three main courses and two desserts, the format allows you to follow your whim. There's also an exceptional cheese cart and a superb wine list.
