Berkeley Garden Club. Irene Winston and Bill Hill of the Northern California Lichen Society will discuss Lichens of California at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Epworth United Methodist Church, 1953 Hopkins St., Berkeley. The meeting is open to the public and free. www. berkeleygardenclub.org.

Marin Master Gardeners. Arden Buckiln-Spore and Rachel Pringle of the S.F. Green Schoolyard Alliance and authors of "How to Grow a School Garden" and Sharon Dinks, author of "Asphalt to Ecosystems," talk about the school garden movement 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday.
