(01-16) 12:26 PST SAN FRANCISCO --
Luis Venegas, a 23-year-old San Mateo man, was shot to death at the Twin Peaks lookout point in San Francisco early Saturday.
Venegas was in the parking lot of the vista point when he was shot to death, police said. The shooting was reported at 3:19 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found Venegas with multiple gunshot wounds in his torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene, San Francisco police Sgt. Michael Andraychak said.
Venegas was at the lookout point with some friends at the same time another group of people was parked nearby, Andraychak said.
"Some words were exchanged ... and a member of the other group fired shots, striking the victim," he said, adding that additional people were in the parking lot. Police are looking for two to three men in a white Honda Odyssey or similar van.
Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call the San Francisco Police Department's anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444.
